Which class is laziest?
Thief. With rev at least you had to swap utility skills etc, now you have to press 2 too. Thief – autoatk while you drink coffee
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
Revenant is still the easiest and even stronger when you stop being lazy.

Then you die in one hit because a feather landed on you while you were immobile.
Thief. It has a trait that encourages you to just use auto attack (Lead Attacks). Warrior is in a close 2nd though. Also on that note, I think Anet should get rid of all Signets. They are a totally lazy way to play.
Depends on what criteria you are using to define lazy. I could call rangers lazy because they can just camp at max range with bow while having their pet tank. You can also call MM lazy since they can just let their minions do the work.

I’m surprised it took this long to see Ranger. :P

Staff guards with the 1 spam = Necro/Ranger
Other players = Minions/Pets
But that´s just my opinion.
Can’t really agree with thief. Sure the auto is good, but using any of the good autos generally puts you at close range where you’re going to have to go dodge and stuff. My current favorite “playing with one hand tied behond my back” build is minion necromancer.
Just hit 12345, f1(rebound to Q), 12345 and let your minions worry about tagging. You can mostly just stand in one place and be lazy while still being not completely useless to your party. Its extremely rare I have to dodge an AoE or anything.
Not exactl optimal, but for being lazy? It’s great.

Players determine it more so than class. Cliche cliche sure, but it’s true.
From a purely mechanical point of view; ranged attack is more lazy than melee.

EDIT: No seriously try that without group might and vuln stacking.

But besides that, the Laziest class to play AND play well is rev.
i dont belive there is any lazy class XD well there r lazy people !!!! who perfer run as laziest builds XD and they complain about how hard hot is :P
Ranger is obviously the laziest. You don’t even have to play your class to win, just let your pet do all the work.

Anet could add counter to signets as they are present in many professions.
Like in gw1 there was Rust that make signets cast longer and if this was casted when enemy used signet, signet was interupted and disabled for period of time.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Rust
In gw2 we have signet passive and signet active effect.
So the easiest way: for each signet passive that enemy is under effect you deal 5% dmg more.
Or when cc’ed enemy one signet passive if disabled for 5s.
etc/..
Healing hammer guardian, auto: symbol, doing (added) dmg, healing and giving protection, being a light-field which procs condi clears when ppl use projectiles, so no condi’s, 40% dmg reduction and heals on autoskill, can be traited for more dmg if needed.
Just stand and facetank. if needing added heal go cleric/minstrel and yuou have time to get whatever you want while killing your enemy, you’ll likely be able to get pizza when killing a champ…
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
There is no way its thief if you are talking about pvp. If you think you can just spam autos on thief you have never played it seriously.
Thief in general is a class that needs more twitch reactions than many other classes from my experience. If you don’t shadowstep/withdraw/dodge at the right time, there is a good chance you will go from 100-0 within 1-2 seconds.
I honestly think necro is pretty lazy and easy. After playing engi/thief/warr/rev/necro extensively in pvp, I can say that necro was the easiest to pick up and had the least amount of ability management or twitch reactions needed.
Engi had most ability spammage, thief had highest twitch reaction necessity.
PvE or PvP?
For PvE probably Longbow Ranger or minion Reaper?
Idk why people suggest squishy melee classes like thief, they have to actively dodge and mitigate damage.
Longbow ranger has maximum 1200 range, and a pet to tank, you can even swap pets if it gets low HP. And Necro has that trait that activates Death Shroud if you take fatal damage, if you got high life force regen and minion pets there’s basically nothing to worry about…
Funny how despite ranged classes and pets existing in the game thief somehow made the list. You need to pay serious attention to make sure your sword 3 dodge works (or check for boons that should be stripped), when to use sword 2, and angle for the daze properly after using sword 5 and when to switch to staff or shortbow (even the decision for your secondary set takes some judgment and there were times even in PvE I wished I took shortbow). Also watching for when or if to use scorpion wire, which is the anti point blank shot, instead of pushing the mob away with a net DPS loss there’s a net DPS gain since the mob is pulled in a convenient stomping distance and for a couple of seconds lacks his group’s support.
Ranger does have some activity to it (mostly in PvP) but even in PvP I noticed the pet doing lots of the DPS work while I mostly focused on support. I even beat scrappers on a druid (though power rev can have a better time).
To qualify for lazy we need to go by some criteria:
1.Is the damage condition or power? Condition damage is lazier since the damage follows the victim whereas power can be dodged or blocked.
2.Are there pets? These can do damage on the player’s behalf.
3.Ranged vs. melee. Melee needs to get up close, which requires more effort.
4.How simple are rotations? Elementalists while ranged with good condition damage don’t qualify since they need to continuously switch conditions and have lots of buttons they need to press. Maybe the same for engineers. Mesmers while cheap with clones (classified as pets for our purposes here), loads of torment and confusion and other factors might not be lazy, I haven’t played the class so can’t make a judgment here.
The thief knows that dying should be avoided and watches for that to not happen whereas many rangers autoattack from safespots, not exactly something you can do with a staff or sword/dagger (shortbow yes but the damage is low enough where doing so contributes nothing to the actual event).
In PvP at least ranger feels lazy but you still need to time celestial avatar form at the proper moment and be alter to when you could get locked down or where you should aim a CA form 2 for the AoE cleanse.
Whichever class has the most AI.
Depends entirely on what you are doing, Thief at Golem 2 isn’t exactly the best option.
Ranger is very survivable in all areas, but you have to move out of circles and off damage lines.
Warrior is still very useful in the Central Tyria areas, I use one to farm Orr.
If you actually want loot in PvE Engineer with flame thrower or staff guardian are both options, providing you are willing to make some effort to move.
Anyone who uses a meta battle build. They clearly have no clue about the class they are playing. Only what rotation to use there weapons and skills in.

I wish thief was a lazy class – it’s absolutely terrible for survival. Dangerous in a 1v1, great at escaping, but actually winning a fight against numbers? Never mind PvP, I can’t even figure out how it’s supposed to be done in PvE. In my experience it’s the hardest class in the game to play well, closely followed by Engi (apparently the scrapper is supposed to be impossible to kill too – it’s not when I’m playing it).
Staff Necro + minions for PvE. Of course you have to kite if you want to take minimal to zero damage. Just run in a circle around the target(s) while auto attack fires and dropping AoEs whenever they are off cooldown.
Commando with their Arty Strike spam.
I’m not the only one who remembers this!
I don’t think I’d describe it as lazy, but it certainly is a lot easier to play some classes. I worked hard to level and map complete my ele, and it was challenging. Then I tried a warrior and a rev, and I was amazed that you could just press a button (warrior gs #2 or rev #3, I forget what weapon) and your toon would jump around slaughtering whatever you aimed at til it died! That never happened on my ele. O_O Then again, I always feel more powerful on the ele, with the ability to launch larger scale attacks. They’re certainly different play styles and it’s fun switching between them depending on how you feel that day.
I love how many people think the pet AI is any good.
In raids/ dungeons
Thief/DH tie for first withtheir 11111111. Rev is a close 3rd but at least it has energy management.
Ele also has braindead rotations but it has to avoid being 1 shotted. Warrior rotation is basic too but actually makes use of all the 1-5 skills.
And then you have engineer that has a rotation that is just plain bad and doesn’t flow at all.

Coming from a much more polished game, anything pet related in GW2 is just remedial. >.>"

This is easily the most idiotic thing that anyone has written on these forums in a long time. Thief main with thousands of hours since launch, every other class except Revenant and Engineer for probably hundreds of hours each. Thief is the last class I want to play if I’m too tired -it requires constant attention, movement and field of fire awareness. I play better because I play a thief because I have to or I’d just rage-quit. Every other class is lazy in comparison.

It only seems like that but as thieves (or anything) we’re waiting for the big interrupts so we can safely use skills like fist flurry or impact strike without worrying about an unavoidable interrupt. Vault can be interrupted and mobs and bosses have cooldowns on some of their skills too and thief is all about initiative management and you always want at least enough for C&D for stealth if things get too much. They can’t interrupt your heal if they can’t target you (well, with certain charge attacks they can but you got to be alert to those.)
Ele has forgiving rotations but not braindead per se. I switch with all elements, do water and ice fields, and go between healer and DPS’er since it has full celestial ascended.
Hammer DH anyone?

The laziest class is definitely hammer Guardian. Why? Heavy armor, passive bulk, AOE blocks, damage rotation is auto spam, auto spam gives players permanent protection. It doesn’t get much lazier than that.

Minion Master.
Minions Attack everything which attacks you, minions heal you and minions transfer your conditions to the enemy. You need to do literally nothing, eat a sandwich enjoy a cup of tea and let the minions play for you.

I’m convinced that hammer Guardian is more lazy because you can just run up to anything, auto attack, and both kill it and actually survive. In the case of the minion master you actually have to recast them when they die; that’s too much effort!

I don’t know. Auto attacks sometimes stop and you have to press 1 again, and Guardians passive heal and condi remove isn’t that good.

Since the patch which changed damage for minions, which are not directly targeted, they nearly never die.

You have some really good candidates (Hammer Guardian, Minion Master, Ranger …) maybe you should test them and please give us feedback which one is the laziest. ;-)
Minion master. Because after one single shot from #1 you can back off and let your minions do all the work. (For the standard mob of course — for veterans they will go after you and kill you while you are making your sandwich!)
Lazy classes for pve:
Minion master necro
Longbow ranger with tanky pet (drake)

Engi can be lazy. Just equip FT, trait it and never stop.
