Which class is worth leveling to 80 ATM?
Norn ranger with a bear, wearing a garish purple pirate coat and hat, named Hamhock Jigglebelly, and have longbow skill 4 set to auto.
or
Play around with a few and decide for yourself. There are as many opinions on the professions, and builds of professions, as there are people playing the game. They can all be fun.
If you want to know of a specific profession for a specific aspect of the game then you might want to clarify. You’ll get a much better answer!
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

Can’t forget the penchant for longbow 3 on bosses that reflect.
@OP: But yeah, play what you like. While the leveling experience remains as inconsistent as ever, at level 80 class matters little, unless you really want to specialize in something specific for a specific area of gameplay.
If you want suggestions, you’ll need to be more specific about what area you want to explore and play the most.
For the toast!
Level a Warrior.
Edit: Actually, level a Guardian.
Thanks for the replies.
To be more specific with things I want, I wanna play a class that is:
Relevant at Endgame PVE.
Can PVP solo or with small groups in WvW
If you want easy, Id say warrior or ranger. For sheer fun I prefer engineer. Also really enjoying my staff necromancer. Neither of those were fun to level however. They didnt really shine for me until I got them to 80. A warrior would probably be a wise 2nd character however as you can gear them to do about whatever you want.
Only 3 Atm and all Berserker of course:Warrior/Guardian priority and for third elementalist this is the holy trinity right now in Gw2. But if you wish for some fun through and not just be a DPSbot try a mesmer, engineer, thief, ranger and necro

sadly.
At this moment, since I am a Little…underwhelmed by the way that Gw2 is going,…I am levelling a Dervish to 20. And an Assassin, and a Ritualist.
Ok all joking aside… what am I levelling to 80? a Brewmaster, A Windwalker, and a Spiritweaver.

the one you enjoy is worth leveling to lvl 80, you just won’t level a character to max if you genuine don’t like it.

Could not have said it better myself.

Guardian, Ele (depending on skill and build)
Those two tend to be must haves in every group.
That being said, just play whatever you want. Unless you are playing people obsessed with doing things as fast as possible, no one will care what you play.
Based upon:

Warrior or Ele
Warrior : Great in pvp atm, Solid WvW, Great pve
Ele : Good in pvp (since changes to celestia), Good wvw, Great pve
Why not a guardian??
Guardian : Good in pvp (but mostly wanted for bunkers in serious content), but great in Wvw/pve
Ur choice !
make a warrior. Everyone has one, everyone needs one. Does good at everything, and will probably never be nerfed. Also the easiest to level AND play
Guard and ele are also solid choices

Honestly you really only need 1 warrior in a party. Any more is a waste and warriors are a dime a dozen.
Dude, just play around with all the classes and see which you like best.
Can’t go wrong with a warrior. It’s Anet’s favorite class.
Guardian, warrior, ele, mesmer. All of them good in endgame pve and small team wvw and pvp.
Just the WvW
R3200+
Warrior is good, but not “Anet’s favorite class”. And they have nerfed Warriors in the past, perhaps to appease PvP players, and that has made certain builds less good for PvE (note that when I say PvE, I NEVER mean speed runs, which is but a small, optional part of PvE gaming.) This has also happened with most Professions, however.
As for the thread’s subject, this game has no endgame content as people traditionally think of it. So if by endgame you mean “fitting in the Dungeon speedrun meta”, then by all means play what those players rather have you play (Guardian I believe is probably less prone to be affected too much by inevitable meta gaming shifts.) If however you enjoy the game in full, and don’t care about speedruns, there’s no need to forbid yourself to play whatever is more fun to you-it’s not “selfish” to be yourself and enjoy the game as you wish.
IMO, there’s no right or wrong way of playing GW2 unless the way you have chosen to “enjoy” it is intentionally trolling others. All Professions have their own feel and something to enjoy about them (you could even stick to Thief for the meta and still do well.)
Elementalist, Dagger/Dagger. I am sure you’ll like it !

Warrior is still the only class that can do pretty much everything. Melee damage, ranged damage, condition damage, burst damage, sustained damage, tank, CC, buff, mass revive, even heal. They have high mobility, high HP, heavy armor.
Sure, they nerfed a few things but what do we keep seeing in LFG? LF WAR…
If you make a warrior, you’re sure to always find a group in seconds.
Level all the classes!!!!!!
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
