Alright. So, I did some number crunching and i’m not sure how accurate this is but i’m curious as to which is better: Arc Lightning or Lightning Whip?
Going according to Guild Wars 2 Wiki’s damage numbers, not including the extra percentages from traits, raw base damage:
Arc Lightning (3 seconds Channel) 900 range
Stage 1: 30 x3
Stage 2: 60 x3
Stage 3: 91 x4
Total: 2164 Damage over 3 seconds
Lightning Whip (1.15 Sec Full animation) 300 range
Damage: 235 x2
Total: 470 over 1.15 seconds
(For math purposes, divided 3 by 1.15 and got 2.60. Multiplied the 2.60 by 470 to make them both technically equal over 3 seconds and got 1222 for Lightning Whip.)
So all in all, I found that AL does 2164 over 3 seconds and LW does 1222 over 3 seconds. Not to mention the range advantage. Does this “technically” make Arc stronger and more viable? Can someone verify this?
