Which is the best server for a Aussie player?
I have seen several players from Australia on Tarnished Coast.
I’m Aussie, and on Tarnished Coast. It’s primarily a US server, but it’s still crowded at all hours of the day thanks to having a very active population.
Dam i didn’t know it costed $25 to transfer my character over =\ (im on a EU server)… Think ill wait for more answers and see if its worth the transfer
Sea of Sorrows is the unofficial Oceanic server since launch. However it depends what you like doing.
If you like sPvP I hear Anvil Rock is the place to be.
If you’re a team based WvW players the gold league servers are a good fit for you with the top 3 having highest WvW populations. If you like roaming in WvW silver league or higher(rank).
If you PvE I suggest finding a good oceanic/all time zones guild in the guild recruitment forum before you make your move so you can get in on Guild Missions. Can always guest for PvE, but they may have a req to be on their server for influence gains or other reasons.
Hope this helps!
Hey all, I’m a new player only been playing for about 5days or so~. I’m currently in a European server and theres never anyone online when i am, so im just wondering which server would be the best for me? I’ve had Tarnished Coast and Sea of Sorrows mentioned heaps but all those threads were a few months old so want some updated suggestions…
Thank you in advance
You could also look for an active Australian guild to join. Then go to their server.
Yarr! I be keeping me pirate runes, Matey. Yarr! You’re welcome. Yarr!
This has nothing to do with helping you pick a server. Depending on the level of character you manage to get and how attached you are to that character(s) you can delete all of your character and transfer for free. Anything you want to save item wise you can just put in your bank and it will still be there when you make a new character in you new world.
Also, IMO starting new and I am not sure how much gaming experience you have, but I would delete all my characters to get the free transfer unless I have a level 80 character already.. well maybe 60.
Keiel has some great advice for you. I wasn’t aware of that trick either. I’m also unaware of EU servers to recommend. I’d say guesting is your best ally right now. You can try two other servers every day for PvE players.
For NA server’s, I believe we on JQ probably has the highest number of players on during Aussie prime times.
I only have a lv21 and lv4 character lol, so it probably is a good idea to do that then wasting $25.. Thanx for the tip Keiel
I’m Assuie and on Tarnished Coast and there are always people around, at all hours. We have a few Aussies and late night US folks in our guild as well.
Sea of Sorrows still alive and kicking as the unofficial oceanic server still.
Tarnished Coast is just a role play server that every one flocked to.

Yep, everyone flocked to it. You’re 100% right there. But most people don’t RP, so I’m not 100% sure why.

Tarnished Coast is reasonably balanced in it’s productivity and size, IMO. The community is nice, the players are pretty skilled (I remember in WoW there was this big stigma that Roleplayers sucked when it came to gameplay for w/e reason), the productivity is pretty balanced as in there’s a reasonable amount of the playerbase involved in all aspects of the game, and also there’s a large amount of players as a whole.
It’s kinda like how when you hear about WvW, people say go to Jade Quarry, or you want good PVE, go to _ server. But generally Tarnished Coast seems to fit in whenever I’ve seen someone looking for any kind of specific basis to join a server, be it any of the above, or others. It really is overall one of the best servers.

Tarnished Coast was the unofficial RP server at launch. Then around the Flame and Frost time people from Tarnished Coast were boasting how they never alone in PVE and it is the place to be for it. Thus every one flocked to it and pretty much ruined the RP scene there. At least according to those that RP there.
But I found it amusing that shortly after they boasted Tarnished Coast was the place to be for PVE. Complaints of being kicked to overflow during world bosses started popping up.
