Just a small food-for-thought experiment here. For each profession, which race would you say has had the greatest impact on its current shape and ideology?

For example, take the Engineer. On one hand, the industrial and militaristic Charr were likely the inventors of the gun, or at the very least one of the leading figures in its development. On the other hand, Asura technology is extremely sophisticated and lends itself well to many engineering gadgets. Which played a larger role?

Or, look at the Ranger. The Norn have lived a lifestyle that centered upon hunting for survival, but the Sylvari would likely be more knowledgeable with regards to much nature magic. Which played a larger role?

Humans definitely played a key role in the development of the Guardian, a quintessentially “human” profession. The skills, abilities and spells of the Guardians are passed down from the traditions of the Sunspears and various Monastic orders, before being incorporated into military culture and stripped of its theological values by way of syncretism.

Paragons and Monks were devoted to the Gods and followed certain codes of conduct. Their abilities and power survives in the modern Guardian class, although the old fashioned adherance to any code and devotion to any Gods are no longer requirements.

I’m going to say Human on just about all of them since they had the classes invented in GW1.

I’m going to say Human on just about all of them since they had the classes invented in GW1.

The engineer is pretty much canonically Charr. Otherwise, pretty much this.

Although, there could be long history retcons backstory we havn’t heard yet that goes more into it, but Humans were the dominant race for hundreds of years. They pretty much defined everything until the dragons brought everything crashing down around them.
