Which server to join/ most populated?
If you’re just doing PvE, you can join any server. PvE and PvP’s lobby are on a megaserver system that pulls players from multiple servers onto the same instances of maps. If, however, you’re wanting to do WvW, your server choice does matter. Unfortunately, the most populated servers also tend to be the ones that are Full (and, thus, unable to join most of the time).
Depends on what kind of community you want really. But, like Rose said, the most populated tend to also be the ones that are already full.

Servers dose not matter for PVE, since everyone is on the same mega server.
Some must fight so that all may be free.
Servers are only for WvW now. Megaservers mean PvE is always populated (though many server communities were killed).
Depends on if you want large scale WvW then, join TC black gate or ome of the big ones. Conversely some people don’t like that super large scale and like smaller more tactical feeling servers in wvw.
It literally only effects WvW.
