Which upcoming Region do you want first?
IIRC, there are already (closed)portals leading to the Crystal desert and Maguuma Wastes in game, so it’s either one of those or the Dominion of Winds. Out of those three, I’d favor the bird cage.
I loved the Crystal Desert in GW. Though, seeing something new might be fun.
I want to see the Maguma Jungles expanded, mostly because I think Asura and Sylvari deserve more areas. Especially the Sylvari, who pretty much have nothing beyond their starter zone.

I’d probably put my chips on Elona.
Elona please. Kamadan given the GW2 treatment would be amazing, also the option of ritualists opens up, PLUS you have Palawa Joko ruling the place
What part of “toxic” and “you will die”, don’t you all understand about the Crystal Dessert? There’s a reason why there’s human guards stationed at it’s gates to prevent access. Save yourself the humiliation of dying 3ft within, just don’t go or want to go.
If we go into the crystal desert, we’d need Junundu wurms to cross the desert. Hell, they were the closest things to mounts back in GW1 and even then, it was in a very limited area.
I’d really like to see what it’s like in the Tengu place.
Probably will see Elona first simply because we know there is already so much happening there. We have Palawa Joko running around, kralkatorrik and his minions, not to mention that lore wise Snaff and glint died there when Logan left Destiny’s Edge so that area might stirr up some more emotions out of DE espically from Zojja. Lore wise Anet has more to work with with Elona
Jade Sea, but that’s obviously not going to happen any time soon…. so Ring of Fire…. also probably not happening soon. Screw it, how about some more Maguuma Jungle.

That’s what the Asura gates are for
The castle of Isgarren (Wizards Fief).

I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but the Asura gates have to be assembled in order to function. I know every bookah in Tyria thinks that they just magically appeared over night, but they are Asura tech and have been built by the finest engineers in the lands.
So, to that end….who’s going to assemble this gate? A bookah human? Hardly. Though the Asuran council knows that the only reasons to put for the gold and resources for a new Asura gate is that the end result is profit for Rata Sum. This profit can come in form of either gold, new magical artifacts, or resources. But, that profit has to out weigh the risks involved. And to risk an expedition of fine Asura engineers to build a gate so a bunch of bookahs could cross a deadly dessert….NO! It just isn’t worth it.
Not all of the Crystal Desert was Desolation. In fact, there were no accessible toxic parts until Nightfall was released. That being said, parts of the Crystal Desert are now lush and verdant, a savannah, because of the river Elon’s diverted path.
So, there will not necessarily be ‘dying within 3 feet’ when accessing the Crystal Desert.
I have always wanted to visit Kaineng in Cantha. The whole lore behind Cantha was always interesting to me, heck all of the GW1 lore is much better than GW2. However, I never played Factions back in those days, I only had Nightfall. I’d love to see Cantha remade in GW2.
Now that I think about it I might just get GW1 trilogy just for the lore and all.
The castle of Isgarren (Wizards Fief).
Ya you know what? It isn’t exactly a region, but I’d really like to see this put into plot now. I mean they’ve pretty much laid the ground work for a mini story from the info the npc’s give.
Heck, it could possibly be a dungeon :/…..now as for how we’d get there…

Then the Order of Whispers can open it up. They have a way in.
“The presence of Joko, Kralkatorrik and Zhaitan has cut off the land route from Tyria to Elona, except for the members of the Order of Whispers who have somehow bypassed this obstacle.”

Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I wanna see IoJ.
Based on the colors of the map when pressing M, it looks to be like a tropical area, which is awesome.
Well we have lots of ice and snow in the current map and it was put out during mostly the winter. Summer is coming up so we are sure to get something hot if something is coming out.

I wanna see the ring of fire again, as well as crystal desert.
I was always a sucker for Elona, so i have to add my support for Elona / crystal desert. One day seeing Vabbi in gw2’s graphic engine would be fantastic.
I don’t know which I want to see first. The Deldrimor Front might hold some awesome dwarven architecture and artifacts. The Blood Legion Homelands along with Far Shiverpeaks and Woodland Cascades would also be nice. The Ring of Fire Islands, the Maguuma Wastes.
I loved the Crystal Desert in GW1… actually, I really enjoyed all the different zones for GW1, and I’m excited to see any of the given zones coming into play. I am looking forward to exploring all the different zones of Tyria.
- If we’re talking continents… well, beats me. I’d probably go for Elona, but then again, Cantha could really become an awesome continent to explore due to the large Imperial City, the Jade Sea, the Echovald Forest, and yeah, I could go on like this.
Basically, I couldn’t really care which zone comes first, as long as they expand and improve the world (severely, since it can grow stale, even with the awesome gameplay designs).
Crystal Desert and parts of Elona eventually
Smough The Cruel [WvW] – Warrior
Crystal Desert and/or Woodland Cascades.
I’m torn between the Dominion of Winds and Elona.
I absolutely loved Elona in GW1. It felt so much more interesting than your typical European fantasy landscape, and had a lot of diverse regions between Istan, Kourna, and Vabbi. I’d love to revisit Elona with GW2 graphics. Plus I find the Joko storyline interesting and would like to see where ANet goes with that.
But I also want to see the Dominion of Winds because it’s new, has the potential for unique architecture, and the Tengu as a race appeal to me.
Dominion of Winds is my pick. I love the Tengu race.
Another vote for the Crystal Desert and Elona.
Partially because I always enjoyed going there in GW1, partially because it bothered me right from the start that we set Joko free and not only left him to rebuild his army but actually helped him. I’d like a chance to go back and put that right.
As for the desert being dangerous firstly it was only part of it that was toxic to begin with. Secondly that came from the Realm of Torment spilling over into Tyria and after Kormir took over Abbadon’s power she began reclaiming the Realm of Torment and undoing his corruption, so I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t happen any more.
Secondly there’s more than one way to get from one place to another. With Zhaitan gone it might be possible to sail around and reach Elona from the south/west. Alternatively the drege and the asuran managed to tunnel as far as Cantha. We didn’t see much of them in GW1 but I’m sure some of those tunnels run under Elona and might still be useable.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Cantha.
Only thing cool about that desert was Tihark Orchard in Vabbi.
CD/ Elona and Dominion of the Winds
Elona means the possibility of Dervish returning in the form of scythes for certain classes.
Dominion because literally all we know is “it has bird people……oh and it’s big!”. That’s it, we know NOTHING else.
I’d like to go to the Ring of Fire or Crystal Desert : )
Cantha, but I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon though.
Otherwise Id love to go to Crystal Desert, Ring of Fire and Dominion of Winds.

WHAT! but they do, I was wandering around Lions Arch and suddenly a whole lot of Karka appeared and started eating everything, then when I looked back there was a GATE just sitting there on the quay. Then last month again, I go most days to do some Fractals using that gate that appeared when the Karka event, then suddenly one day when I wander to the gate there is another one next to it to Sunstone cove, just appeared over night.
Guess im the olny one that wants Blood Legion Homelands.
I would vote for Elona.
