Guild Wars 2

Hello,

Now that it’s been a while since players inhabited the servers and all sorts of characters roam the worlds I think it’s a good time to generalize our knowledge about the professions that we can pick. I hope that a quick labelling the things certain characters do best could help many new players that struggle to pick and decide which profession they want to try out. I know that Guild Wars 2 is allowing a great deal of flexibility for us all in choosing our in-game jobs and gamestyle, and that e.g. a Guardian could be a tank, a healer and damage dealer if set up accordingly but we all have to agree that some professions exceed in some areas and certain character types suit certain tasks best.
Since I consider myself “a nobody” in the world of Guild Wars 2 I’d like you all to participate and say what you think.

You really need to take yourself some time at the wiki or one of the game rewives m8!
There is no such things as healers, or tanks in this game. There is damage setups, supportive setups, and crowd control setups. Every single Proffesion in the game can do these 3 functions, and they do them in different ways!

Heck, even Single Target DPS and AoE DPS, I haven’t event head that term used yet. Pretty much every setup got tools to handle different things, and up to now there haven’t been any need in what group stuff I have been doing, to judge “who does the best DPS” but more a need of “Who is the best team player that can combo with the rest of the team”

OK, this has never ment to ba trolling post but I guess it’s turning into one. I suppose you are right – I need to approach the game from a different perspective and ask different questions. Appoligies to those that felt upset.
