I love hitting a door for 5-10 minutes as much as the next guy and the dragons aren’t exactly what you call hard to kill. What else does this game have to offer at end game? I can’t seem to find much.

If you don’t like wvw, spvp, completing all dungeons, or have the motivation to farm a legendary, not much.

That’s fine., you don’t have to play gw2 religiously. If there is nothing that you enjoy doing just take a break, play something else and when something new is out hopefully you come back and play again. You’re not suddenly going to be undergeared.

I come back to this game every now and then. Took about a week to hit max level, right now WoW has my attention since all the new raids are starting to unlock.

Plenty of endgame, just not enough reason to do that endgame.

WvW
SPvP
3 world bosses
2 80 zones
-Straight up mob farming
-Dynamic event farming
-Resource farming
25 explorable mode paths
Crafting
Many unique achievements, and repeatable achievements after that

There is plenty, and when I say plenty, I mean a lot of things to do at 80. Where more endgame than you’d get from virtually every other MMO. Problem is there’s no real reason to do most of it. 1-2 explore modes for the tokens, no real rewards for achievements/WvW, SPvP feels completely disconnected and feels like a waste and so on…

By making some content help player’s towards their goals (skins/money/achievement points, whatever) they make the players want to do this content for the rewards. But, a lot of the time, the player enjoys a different piece of content more—unfortunately, it simply doesn’t help him achieve this goal. It puts one in a state of mind where they’re torn—and it just makes them feel like doing absolutely nothing.

Like I’ve said many times over—all they need to do is make endgame more rewarding in general. Now, I’m not talking stat rewards—I’m talking ranks, things to sell, armor skins, those types of things. Make it so you feel like you’re getting stuff for doing these things. For me personally though, I really love this game, I hope they stay true to their overall design.

There are tons of end game in gw2 such as dungeons, spvp, wvw, collecting skins, and anything you can think of that could interests you. New content with new de, jp and possibly dungeons and skins are coming out in two weeks.

To those who prefer wows end game…. I honestly dont get it… You are paying 15 bucks a month trying to repeat a raid once per week before it gets lock down. New raids would only take a day or two to finish due to the size of the raid… Then what? Wait for a week doing nothing? Old raids wont work because the gear are worse in terms of stats. With
Raid finder you can probably see all the raid co tents in easy mode within an hour or two….

Is that model really better than wvw, or dungeons? Raiding the same raid one to two dAys a week is more fun than gw2 to you guys???

Lacking? By what standards.
Measure it against the ‘traditional’ sense of endgame (raiding and gear progression), then yes GW can be seen to be lacking.
But GW2 is not that type of game, its a different breed.
The world is MASSIVE and the stuff to do is so long, it would take ages to participate in everything.

The only end-game I am experiencing is levelling alts. Not sure what I am going to do when I am done with that. I WvW enough to clock up monthly achievements. I don’t mind it in small doses but I wouldn’t log in every day just to WvW or sPvP.

It’s lacking 25 man instanced content. You’re right.

However, I made it to level 80 yesterday, and just tried to unlock the waypoints near Arah in order to avoid keeping people waiting for me to discover.

I tried to simply walk up there, and was constantly attacked by several monsters.
I ended riding a wave of people doing DEs on the way south just so I don’t get overwhelmed, found myself in an event to kill a priest (don’t remember it’s name) for a skill point with 30 or so other people. we failed the event timer, and lost a lot of money to repairs. This took altogather including the part I tried alone around 90 minutes, and I only made progress through 2 waypoints, needless to say I’m still very far from the instance.

I haven’t completed all maps, haven’t capped any of my crafting, have yet to experience pvp properly, and of course, try some alts for different combat experiences.

I have done only 2 instances since I was on a server with no story mode groups. This felt like being a horde on Neptulon before I quit WoW when I did /who and got 5 people as a reply, with Blizz not caring about the realm not being fun anymore, they wanted 20EU each char for the move.
On GW2, I don’t pay monthly, and I transferred for free to a server where within 2 hours of being on the server I already completed another one.

I think I need 3 more months just to make story and exp mode completed with around 80% of world map. There will be new content before that.

In WoW, if you only play 1 character, you end up with the same problem at wednesday night after you complete your weekly normal/hc raid and the LFR one.
other than those few hours, it’s just dungeons and pvp, without the dynamic events.

Advertised as a Pvp focus mmo.
Therefore there should be GuildHalls & GvG for endgame.
But dev already said its not gonna be implemented anytime soon /sigh
Btw i’ve been levelling up my alts in almost empty lowbies zones /yawn

What You Shouldn’t Do:
Play The Game For 10 Hours Every Day (unlike other mmos, the game doesn’t stretch out content, like making you run half way across the world for a quest. So if you play a lot, the game is going to feel short)
Complete Only One Type Of Content At A Time (<— this is you grinding. Now stop it)
Rush Trough The Game (a game is meant to entertain you, not waste your time, so enjoy it)
Expect A Completely Different Gaming Experience At Level 80 (if you didn’t like the game up to level 80, you most likely won’t like it after)
Only Do Content For The Rewards (again, games are meant for your entertainment. If you want to gamble, then poker is an excellent game)
Expect Other Players To Need You (there is no holy trinity in this game, so no one is forced to talk to anyone that they don’t want to. You have to spark up a conversation yourself)
Compare Guild Wars 2 Content, With WoW Content (Guild Wars 2 is one month old, WoW is seven years old. Of curse WoW is going to feel like a more complete game)
Try To Force Yourself To Love The Game (maybe the game just isn’t for you?)

I’m mostly a PvE player and I don’t have a problem. When I first hit 80, I was only at 40% World Completion, now I’ve got full set of Exotic and is at 51% World Completion, I still have so many places to go!

Occasionally when I just didn’t feel like playing in the zone I was in, I would select a random lower level zone and just go for a walk.

Sure it was already 100% completed before, so now I don’t really have a direction to go, or some objective to achieve, but now I can just roam around in no particular pattern and see what kind of event or scenery I ran into, it’s a lot of fun when you don’t give yourself pressure~ (like when you just got to a new map, you would have this urge of forcing yourself to move to new places, sometimes in a hurry)

This game is lacking some srs HL stuff. Crafting legendary weapons? it’s a bit borring but still if you find some skins you like, feel free to go for it (i’m playing ranger and srsly i won’t craft any of the kitteny skins, my opinion). Dungeons are easy or unbroken as hell, not funny because there is no trinity but these dungeons seems to need some trinity balance on some bosses (else bosses are too easy and you don’t even need to look your screen to kill them).
There is still sPvP or WvW. WvW is funny but you can’t spend whole days into, it becomes a bit borring if you stand into every minutes you play. Spvp, well i really dont like it, i was a pro PvP player on GW1 (r13ha/c7 GvG) but i really hate this pvp so i won’t go in (did r20 then left, really not fun unlike GW1). So now we need some new pvp stuff to give some extra life to this game or make some real hard corebut non impossible new dungeon to come (like this giganticus lupicus, the only boss that deserve some real interest). Funny part, i think they did down state just because they realized a bit late that without trinity & down state, it would have been impossible to finish any dungeon. My 2 cents, just wait for 15 november and if this is a fail update, just leave the game and come back 1 year later when (i hope) most bug would be fixed and there would be planty of updates.

Also, I still remember from WoW how you wait for the weekly reset, form the group, only to find that 5/8 bosses are sooo boring, and the amounts of trash (most of the raids) needed to be killed in order to get there are vast and may in time be deal breakers.
But you must do all of it in order to get to the final boss, on which you’ll spend the rest of your week making progress in order to acheive the gear that will allow you to go through all this again in hc mode.

Except for the gear improvement, how is this a different experience than taking hard world events with tough champions?

I enjoy doing dungeon with pug.

I like the fact that there is no gear treadmill which is the most thing I hate about mmorpg.

Also this is a B2P game so if you got bored just stop playing until next update or event.

Leveling from 0-80 is also the best experience I’ve ever had so making alt toon is also an option.

Not to mention the 3 big dragons we face in the world die like little pushovers. Jormag’s Claw is the only one that presents any … well.. I can’t even say difficulty. I’ve never seen any of the events fail, just the Jormag one takes the longest of the 3.

Man well said in few words. There is nothing in GW2. I seen this ppl write official game content every time when someone ask question OP did. Why ? Thats not what he asked. We all know what anet was using to promote this game. Ppl are asking now WHERE is that ?
Coz, dungeons are terrible, spvp is pathetic and wvw is doorbashing. So where is this FUN that was promoted ??

Depends on what you declare as endgame. If you are mentally conditioned towards raids and gear treadmills then WoW will be your game you want to be in. If you are expecting some progression then yes it’s not quite there yet but that doesn’t mean there never will be. Since you’re not paying a subscription stopping now and coming back later isn’t going to be a problem.

Thats your opinion i happen to think what is available is great seeing as how the game is still fairly new i don’t expect games to have years worth content at release. What exactly is end game to you since what is currently available so omg terrible.

New dungeon and zone in a few days guys.

They’re also tweaking dungeon rewards and are vocal about their concerns with having players be rewarded for doing whatever it is they like.

And say what you will about lack of incentive, WvW and sPvP are practically their own separate games. Lay that on top of my 500+ hours of game time at 50% world completion AND free content updates (every month it seems) and I say I got my 60 bucks worth.

@Kiranslee
Not all games suit all people.

I found WoW not suitable for me. End game for me, being a horde on Neptulon was mainly:
1. sunday: log in, fly around Orgrimmar, looking for a raid group for like 3 hours during which time a total of 7 level 85’s logged int. Ask a GM to transfer my chars to a live server, getting denied, Posting a request in Blizz support for a transfer, stating that I’m not willing to pay to transfer if this transfer is required for this game to be somewhat fun, getting denied again since they can’t let me have this service for free.
2. monday – same, this time I’ll do some dailies, but… don’t want to since it’s exactly the same as yesterday. still, you want to do something besides flying around orgrimmar counting level 85’s who log in.
3. tuesday – well, no real new content, so it’s the same.
4. Finally, we won Tol Barad, since Allies are doing raids. But… there are less than 10 people so we can’t form a group. well, we’ll look for a raid, maybe there are people doing a raid since it’s the reset. However, I missed the weekly realm only raid since I tried Tol Barad. Maybe next week.

You’re right, it is a fun end game experience.

There were servers with people who were actually playing, but 6 level 85 chars * 20EU is 120EU on top of the mothly 13EU, which seem quite an exaguration when you already pay the monthly fee for having fun, and not having any. And the only reason I had 6 chars is that there were no people to do the end game content with, so I leveled some, but it wasn’t fun anymore, so like any other single player game, once you complete the duable content it’s game over.

As I said, not all games suit all people.
