Who will be the villain in the 2nd expansion?
Considering it took 3 years to get the first one, I really don’t care right now.
Considering it took 3 years to get the first one, I really don’t care right now.
It’s just 2 more years until the second one
I’m hoping for Bubbles
Kralkatorrik is the one I’m leaning towards.
Zombie Scarlet.
Save the Bell Choir activity!
I honestly hope they go for either Kralkatorrik or Bubbles (Steve).
Kralk, because Crystal Desert and Glint connection (we have one of her eggs atm) and Bubbles because we know next to nothing about him/her/it and because the DSD is tied to the quaggan and the largos.
I’m hoping for the mighty, ominous, and super powerful BUBBLES and it’s hoard of bubbly quaggan coming to coo and foo our ears to death.
Scruffy
Trahearne mentioned during Season 2 that before Mordremoth showed up the Pact had been preparing to go after Kralkatorrik so my guess is he will be the next target.
They went after Zhaitan first because his risen were showing up everywhere and causing enough trouble that multiple groups wanted him stopped whereas the other dragons seemed relatively contained. (Jormag was only really threatening Hoelbrak and the other norn settlements, the Branded don’t seem to leave the Brand, and the Destroyers only rarely reach the surface. Apparently Bubbles is causing a lot of trouble out in the deep ocean, but that’s not really affected us yet.)
Then they went after Mordremoth for much the same reason – his minions and vines were appearing everywhere and attacking everyone.
Admittedly as far as we know the situation hasn’t changed since then, Kralk isn’t any more of a threat than he was before (and the same goes for the others) so in theory we could leave them for a bit, and I’m fully expecting the next Living Story season to focus more on the fall-out of losing so many people attacking Mordremoth, especially after we persuaded Tyria’s governments to provide troops.
But ultimately I think having taken down 2 dragons the Pact are going to want to finish what they started, and Kralk seems like the logical starting point.

We are going to the crystal desert. You hear it here first, maybe.

John Smith = Smith = S = Steven = Deep Sea Dragon. It all make sense now :o
I don’t really think it would suck if it were not a dragon at all. Even if the expansion had a non-dragon big bad that would lead up to a Dragon later on.
Like Palawa Joko could be the big bad and that expansion could lead up to Kralk in the next for example. If they took us to the Crystal Desert, then they could give us the dessert areas of Elona as part of the expansion in which to battle Palawa and his forces.
IMO I think it will be Kralk, but it could go anywhere. Trahearne saying the pact was going to go after Kralk next could be a giant red herring. It wouldn’t be the first time devs tried to divert our attentions and then surprise us.
Kralkatorrik is far too big to fit on screen and would probably be the final boss before the behind-the-scenes-pulling-the-strings-final-boss.
Bubbles requires a huge underwater redesign, Cantha, swimsuits, boating physics and fishing so it’d probably take extra long so if it’s a Dragon it’d probably be Jormag I guess.
221 hours over 1,581 days of bank space/hot pve/lion’s arch afk and some wvw.
I do think that if it’s Kralk then a really interesting plot twist would be Snaff knew he was going to die and told Logan to save the Queen because she’s ultimately needed to defeat him as her innate magical potential is greater than Snaff’s. Snaff would have deliberately targeted a specific part of Kralk’s mind to temporarily neutralize the spreading of the branding, knowing he couldn’t outright defeat him.
It would be cool summoning Snaff’s ghost and Zojja discovering her hatred of Logan is misguided, as he followed Snaff’s orders. Snaff would have hid the fact he was making a deliberate sacrifice however since he knew Logan would needlessly get himself killed with Snaff if he thought there was a risk of Snaff dying.
I sometimes write potential scenarios for the fun of it and here’s one:
Zojja: This is getting ridiculous, we came all the way out here and…(cries) I miss Snaff so much!
(Logan sneaks away slowly, knowing he’s a trigger that’ll just exacerbate Zojja’s sadness and he wants to comfort her but can’t knowing he’s largely blamed for Snaff’s death)
Shadowlynx Leftpaw: I’m really sorry for your loss. We’re out here explicitly against the Asuran council’s wishes under the pretense that it’s “too dangerous” and, “a quaggan can’t handle himself in these parts” but we’ll overcome!
Ironfin (The chosen one and also a Quaggan): Seeing the cute genius cry makes me sad, coooo :( I have the sword ready for the ritual!
Exalibur(placeholder name): You’re ready but what about me?! Why does no one asks me if I’m ready?! Being swung all day gives me the worst migraines!
Ironfin (head is down): I’m sorry…
Exalibur: Ahahahahahahahaha! Made you feel bad! Since I know you need my magic how about…
Zojja(interrupts): Just get in place already!
Exalibur: Yes ma’am.
(Snaff’s ghosts is summoned)
Snaff: Why if it isn’t my old apprentice Zojja! And Logan! Were you successful helping the queen? If you’re going to defeat Kralk one of these days you’ll need some of her magical expertise as she’s the only one powerful enough to do the job I tried to…quite humbling really, that a human has a higher aptitude than me in this area. I took some great risks to temporarily contain the branding by targeting a specific part of his mind…
Logan: Snaff… you told me you knew you’d make it and off him! Why didn’t you let me defend you!?
Snaff: I knew otherwise though, knowing you you’d stay by my side and needlessly die with me.
Zojja: But…so all this time I hated Logan for…nothing?
Snaff: Precisely. And he felt so bad and responsible for my death too!
Having earned so much power, influence and being at the center of everything happening in Tyria, while all the other leader just die, lose their temper or simply leave the workforce for a while, I think the best villain for the next season would be our own Pact Commander.
Our hero doesn’t need to become evil or bad. It takes only 1 wrong choice to start walking the path of tyranny.
I would love to see our main character trying to establish a stronger control of tyrian communities, resources and knowledge; being forced to take harsher choices each time; leading a group of more and more fanatical supporters; until eventually goin too far; and then having to confront old companions and allies wich, when fairly judged would be playing the role of heroes fighting our own dictatorship.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”
Hawks
Would be interesting to see Jenna descend into tyranny as she seeks to expand human influence and dominion. Her special police, the Dark Seraph, are everywhere. The sound of the iron boots of the Seraph marching into LA for its own protection. If humanity is to have a future on this continent it must have living space.
We will know at the end of living world season 3.
Unless they decide to ignore the dragons completely and drop the expansion No2 with dragon related content only in 1 loooooooong eeeppiiiic personal story. Separating the dragon fight within the personal story from the expansion No2 zones.
That way we get a dragon hunt saga and a dragon fight that we deserve, without the weird timey-wimey wooblydoobly mess we got now.. maybe?
It’s me.
OMG. it’s the dragon named, “I’m The Destroyer Of The Designer’s Intention Of Making Players Happy.”
We’re dooooooommmmd. :O
We’ll just call you ITDOTDIOMPH for short, if that’s ok with you.
ANet may give it to you.
plot twist: we are actually going to fight rytlock, because we have no clue what he has been doing while he was into the mist. The story of LS3 will reveal what happened to him and we will learn that he came back for evil reasons…..Hell, who knows maybe it is not even him and the real one may be still imprisoned in the mists
there’s probably going to be an expansion where we kill two of them, like primordus and kralk in the same release
etherealguardians.com
We should fight a bunch of heroes that defeated another elder dragon off in a different part of the world.
They can be just as self-centered and egotistical as the (seemingly) majority of player characters are, and the entire reason we have to fight them is because there can be only one super-special snowflake in the world!
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
Something other than dragon maybe. Mursaat (they got debts to settle!), canthans (maybe an expansionist move with their army of xenophobes), Palawan Joko? Who knows maybe his undead army and evil sunspears can defeat crystal desert dragon.
Any excuse to go to Cantha would be great, but I’m guessing Kralk.
It’s me.
im gonna call this as proof that the real end-game boss is both the trading post and the devs :P
It’s me.
will your AoE attacks drain gold silver and copper from players instead of health?
I think we has enough of nature and trees, its time to visit the underworld.
4-5 underworld based maps, some horror theme and as for boss, some mummy, buried since old GW and resurrected by necromancer, which should be pre final boss.
Something like Maps of Orr,but much much better, after all its going to be 5 years after Orr maps…so i think no point of seeing something lookalike.
I know for sure i don’t want keep fighting trees and dragon for years. Not only there are dragons in GW,but we all played some other game/s before GW2 came out,and every mmo game there is,is filled with dragons,it kinda became same old boring story.
And besides new elite spec, and some maps they are going to do,it would be nice to see new weapons,to make it like actual expansion, not random patch, and i am sure i wont be paying any money for expansion, which is going to be updated 6 months after actual expansion is out.
Once upon time, company called Arena Net said they want to do things different way,and make unique mmo game.So far, only unique thing we got is rewarding system, which benefits them not us(less rewards we got, more $ people will spend buying gold),and living world story, which can be done in 40 hours.

I am very curious to know what they will do with Bubbles. Can they really release this dragon without a large underwater combat rework?
I would really love if this happened though. I love underwater combat and I really think gw2 is doing it right in many ways.
What I think is needed is “only”
- balancing current UW skills
- additional weapons, like one-handed spear/trident and some good off-hands (a net-shield, so basically a shield but with holes to ensure less friction in water?)
- having all of those fit in the build system, the easiest being by having the different weapons correspond in role with the standard weapon on land (just a bit more polyvalent since there are fewer UW weapons)
- a way to have “ground” targeting work. I think they could use a discrete “UI plane” showing a partly transparent grid indicating the plane our character orientation is defining. Ground targeting would then simply be at the aimed distance on that plane. So to target someone, you need to first look towards him (thus defining a plane on which both of you are sitting) and then aim your ground target as usual. “Snap skill at current target” will also be very useful.
Well I went slightly off-topic, but basically, for the sake of underwater I think what a-net should do is:
- introduce UW changes (not as part of an expansion else people may complain)
- one expansion for Jormag which contain a lot of land, but also decent amount of UW combat. This will ensure good reception of the expansion (thanks to land) and also be a good way to “take the temperature” about UW
- if UW has good reception, Bubbles can be the following expansion, not fully UW still, but in majority. Else, find a way to ensure Bubbles attack on land…

Or just make our surface weapons available to use underwater and just change their skills to be more underwater like. Remove tridents, harpoons etc.

I was actually working on a post where there’s a counter group to Destiny’s Edge lead by a Krait Duchess (who hates whenever people breach noble protocol, there’s hardly a better way to establish the bad guy side’s royalty and nobility than them having a problem being addressed other than “Royal Highness” “Majesty”, “Right Honorable”, etc. implying a false sense of superiority due to arbitrary social divisions) with a Kodan, Hylek, Dredge (Moleton Friedmole may be a good name since he was kicked out of the Dredge for holding extreme views in the opposite direction to give evil libertarians representation to balance out the evil communists), and centaur would be really cool. They’d defeat an elder dragon off screen (that didn’t happen in the post I was working on admittedly) not because it’s the right thing to do but because they view the dragons as a competing force for power.
They’d essentially be the five man band’s (TvTrope’s term doesn’t necessarily have to have five people per se) evil counterpart.

Suppose you positioned each of your 9 keyboards in two spirals so that each 1 key was within the fingerspan (is that a word?) of each hand? Each bearbow could be controlled almost simultaneously, not including movement. The ideal number of bearbows on separate clients then increases to 10, or even more depending on how dexterous you are with your toes. Of course, you may need to include the cost of 10+ computers vs the potential gains to be had controlling 10+ clients in your bearbow math. The money dragon strikes again!

It is now if it weren’t before. As long as it’s a logical sequence of sound with understood meaning it’s a word. I don’t care about the red underline underneath it.
The 1 key on a single keyboard assuming homerow is quite a stretch for the pinkie lol!

I’m tridextrous (Wait…I did precise deliberate character aiming and very subtle and precise wrist movements playing SAB tribulation with the mouse which is a right handed peripheral so I might even be a quadradextrous in some ways lol!) so I may give it a shot

I don’t think so lol! One GTX 1080 will be expensive enough.
