What is in place to stop people from making free to play accounts and using hacks? I have already seen people with teleportation hacks in the new stronghold map. This has to stop immediately. In my 3 years of playing this game I have hardly seen anyone with bots or any cheats like that but yeserday i saw my first real teleport hacked in a PvP match, 400 achievement points, obvious FTP player.

The game had tons of bots at launch. None were f2p accounts. I’ve read numerous reports of hacking since launch. None were f2p accounts.

Report and move on if you see one.

Well the persons name has F T P then a derogatory term in it. Plus the 400 AP, idk what more proof anyone else needs.

You are only assuming that they’re F2P. Regardless of that, my second point remains: Report hackers when you see them. And, as was already said above, people have been using paid accounts to cheat in all game modes since launch. The F2P players aren’t bringing this to the game; it’s been here the whole time.

Not every 400AP player is f2p. So you did make an assumption. However after giving more detail about the name it makes more sense that it would be. But you didn’t give that in your OP.

wow 400 ap, could be a new player, could be an old returning, or could be a hacked account. AP not a deciding factor of anything really.

This week we saw a ranger in ebg using no clip thorugh walls and speed hack his account name even had “FTP” on the name……

But one thing that could help reduce the number of hacks is to have machine bans. I think battlefield had a system that uses IP or Mac address to block accounts from a computer that was already used for cheating. There is work around and it does not stop all hacks but it makes harder and reduces the number of cheaters.

Your post makes unproven assumptions and presumes that just because you saw a low ap account with a name referencing f2p that that proved it was a f2p account. You’ve shown zero proof of anything so far.

So… my main account has almost reached 10k AP, but the 2nd is around 360~ so…. this makes me a potential hacker and f2p player, nice! Thanks for pointing this out, Edarkness. It’s always good to know there are ppl who have prejudices even if logic strikes them to be probably wrong. It might be good for you to read a bit in this topic c:

There’s no “law” that restricts FTP to be ONLY used for free2play. Just saying, even if this player was a f2p player (what Anet will see “if” you reported him correctly) please don’t put all of them in the same place. You will find Hackers everywhere in MMOs. We can’t imagine how many more joined the game during the 10€ discount.

I’m not sure. OP do we need HoT preordered to post here? I mean I have it pre ordered already and have been able to post so idk. Since you own the thread and all maybe you’re biased to HoT players only and only let us HoT players post.
