Because Anet has done everything to destroy the community until now.
No RP thanks to the Megaservers, no new contents which would boost the imagination and fantasy of the fanarts writers, the constant loss of dedicated vets and many more reasons.
I’ve seen GW2 fanwork before, on other sites. I think it’s just that putting it up on here feels like you’re putting it somewhere nobody will ever look.

This too.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
Because there is no community creations in game. “In game” being the key words in that sentence. Creativity is also mostly stifled for control. The dev’s are heavy handed when it comes to forcing a handful of cookie cutter appearances. Unfortunately, this all stems from the bad idea of typecasting professions into certain appearances. Mostly due to trying to force an E-Sport business model.

I think it’s a fair question. First, I apologize because I feel I’ve missed the chance to be more active in that forum. I’ll make sure I’m in there more often and I will share with the team, too. In addition, I’ll ask other members of the team if they’d like to share fan art and other creations from our official forums, too. For instance, perhaps Rubi will be able to highlight a forum contribution — I’m not sure, but I sure can ask her.
Thanks for raising the question.
