Seeing similar health bars with a class icon instead of a fancy portrait in an embellished frame removes much from a show-off aspect dont you think? I play Blizz games and portraits are a big deal there.

No, if they are in the same map then you you’ll see their faces

Erm, i will repeat this again, this time slooowly… Frames? You know, the things around the portrait? That can be ornamental, paid for and granted for achievements?

There was once the idea here in the forum for more horizontal characte progression, i think it wasalso mentioned in the CDI alot, that players could receive as part of their progression new Character Portraits and Frames.

That your Portait could receive also on your “career” on the way first a Veteran Frame, then Elite Frame, then Champion Frame, then Legendary Frame and as last one a unique Ascension Frame that is a silver golden mixed one that looks more impressive, than the legendary frame, maybe has some kind of little animation. like a very subtle shining effect.

I think also it would be nice, if we could create our own Character Protrait manualy and add to it an own background color and such things to add in total to all of it a bit more components for customization.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

You seem to be working under the assumption that everyone else on this forum has played the same games you have and is familiar with their reward systems. That’s clearly not the case and I think that’s where a lot of the confusion comes from.

Portraits are a big deal in some other games. Ok, great. In one game I play dyes are achievement rewards and people say much the same about that system – it’s a great way of displaying your achievements and some people can genuinely spot the difference between the PvP reward black and PvE black. But much like this frames idea it totally throws people who have never encountered that before and it takes someone explaining it before they get it.

So, how do customisable frames work? Is it a linear system where you progress from one to another? Based on what? Can you pick between them? If you prefer a lower ranked one can you swap back to it? Most importantly how do you envisage it working alongside or instead of the reward systems we already have in GW2?

Frames should be granted for achievements or bought in gem store same as titles and finishers go. Just in case, frame is the thing encircling a portrait.

Some players fixate on the strangest things as important.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

You can’t see your own portrait in this game. Like the star for map completion and your titles, it’s invisible to you. Why buy cosmetic frames that you’ll never see? If it bugs and doesn’t show you’ll never even know it’s missing. Sounds like kind of a waste of money to have a shiny that’s invisible to you.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Sure, I’d like to see more reward types. Fancy portrait frames to display in our character screen along with our account medals would be cool.

Well as long as the characterlists still bug out and show 2 or 3 the same faces while in SLi I do not care fore a nice frame

I just want to see their faces. Preferably non jumping up and down, temporarily swapping faces… and or mixing…
