Why I loved GW1 more then GW2
Out of curiosity, how many raw permutations of skills across all classes were there in GW1 and how many are in GW2?
Gw2 has a LOT of potential. However, the game is only 3 weeks old, so we’ve a while to wait to see if it can live up to the hype the creators have made for it.
Well, it’s pretty early days.
The only thing we’re really lacking right now is a ‘where things are going’ post from the devs.
They have posted about this on their blog. It was a really long time ago. I’ll see if I can find it, but the gist of it is that they wanted to get rid of fluff and make every skill feel really powerful, as well as eliminate the possibility of bad builds by locking 5 useful skills onto the weapons, giving every player a good self-heal, three skills to help them in certain situations, and an elite that’s intended to make an otherwise impossible fight completable.
Simply put, they wanted to stop the game from being Build Wars.

Main Character: Dathius Eventide | Say “hi” to the Tribulation Clouds for me. :)
Not sure of the exact number but I can see here for some there is over 90 pages of different builds. Though ofc not all were optimal or the meta there was options.
I think a big part of why I loved GW1 was being able to be 2 professions. I truly believe if this was in GW2 it would eliminate soooo many of these threads of people who say “I cant decide on a profession.”
Of course this I am sure can still be an option but it is way too early to decide on that until they fix everything else that tends to take precident, i.e. the bad camera angles.
