With Greatsword in hand I go head first into this danger and come out swinging.
Sure it sometimes gets exhausting, but the rewards aren’t that bad.
I do get access to a nice chest if done right.

I dont know if anyone has read the HL2 book ‘Raising The Bar’ but the design of the Gonarch basically is along these lines.

They wanted something that would make players (who are mostly male) uncomfortable to raise the atmosphere of the battle, and so went for a creature that looks like gonads.

I would think the Karka design was intentional. Hope so, in fact.

No, no! I think you’re all wrong. Have you ever seen the moves Alien and Aliens 2? I think Karka (at least the big ones) are based on Aliens for sure. The way big mamas entangles you in slime, spit acid at you, lay swarm of eggs and it’s hatchlings attach themselves to your face etc. Aliens absolutely!

Aliens and Starship troopers (and many games like Starcraft) owe a lot to the art of HR Giger. And a lot of his artwork is quite … biological.
