Just curious. I find it annoying to constantly type in my credentials to simply be able to view the forums. This appears to be a recent change; why was this?

That’s been like that I thought. I was going to look up some stuff but I needed to buy the game 1st lmao. Is that what you mean?

There REALLY needs to be a “stay logged in” option for the forums. At least I have google chrome and my acc & pw is automatic lol… lazy ftw.

That’s very strange because I just viewed this topic while not logged in and had to log in to reply! It is irritating not having a “stay logged in” button though, it’s a standard on forums and has been for years.

I can browse the forums while not logged in using IE, Firefox, Chrome or Opera.

You dont need to be logged in, in order to read the forums. If you want to comment though…

Seems to me if I log in once in IE then the next time I try to view these forums in IE it asks me to log in again. In Firefox it isn’t doing this.

ArenaNet has responded that they won’t implement a stay logged in feature for these forums. If I remember correctly it is due to security reasons. It is after all the same account as your game account and saving those credentials somewhere in order to recognize you are logged in is not the safest option.

It seems to me the way around that would be to have separate login details for the forum rather than use your game account. IMO that’s the security risk.

I think that would a lot safer indeed Jonny. In this case I just passed on the message they left in another thread so people know what to expect.
