It’s a question I’m really hesitant to ask, mostly because I’m afraid of what the outcome could be, but why are these weapons so expensive? For example, look at the Charr weapons. They cost 9800, 35000, and 63000 karma for Tier 1, 2, and 3. I can get any of the Tier 1 skins for less than 1 silver from the auction house. I can get any of the Tier 3 skins from karma vendors for 1000 karma or less. I’m certainly not buying Cultural gear for the stats, so why should I have to pay so much to get it?

I agree. Since the skin is available so easily elsewhere… why not just either make them exotics.. or substantially lower the karma.

I would be fine with the prices if those skins were ONLY available there. Like the T3 armor. But the weapons don’t make much sense.

Can we preview gear now on the tp?

You can’t get sylvari T1 cultural armor from the TP. At least I’ve never seen it listed there. I’d assumed it was the same for all races, but I stopped checking when I realized that I wasn’t ever going to spend any more gold on them.

Armor is specifically race restricted.
Many (but not all) of the T1 armors can be found if you dig around enough. The T2 and T3 culture armor are unique.

ONLY the T1 racial weapons can be found in the general population. The T2 and T3 for pretty much all of them are pretty specific.

There are other “culture” vendors that sell unique weapon and armor sets around the world too.

I do agree that they seem to be excessivly priced. The T1 and T2 are not completly aweful, but the T3 prices (for /only/ a rare) are kittens.

I’ve personally found all of the Charr T3 on karma vendors and several different T2 weapons as rare drops. Today also had me finding the Sylvari T2 Greatsword on a karma vendor, which is what prompted my original post.
