Why are WvW titles in GW2 so unreasonable?
I feel the same about most WvW titles. No idea what their reasoning was to set such huge requirement numbers.
Its true that some of the WvW title are pretty much impossible (who gonna play any game for 20+ year at several hours per day). But on the other hand, that allow us to keep count of our stats in WvW. If the max was 50 000 (some people reached that for WvW kills for exemple), then in 1 or 2 years most people that play wvw would reach that number and everybody would be at the same level. Everybody would have 50 000 kill. Maybe intermediary title like for sPvP would be better. The limit could stay very high, but each 10K kill you get a new Title.
They said that they’re going to change them.
I do agree that many (if not all) of the WvW title reqs are rather outlandish. That said, didn’t the devs say that they were reevaluating those requirements and that they would come down? Maybe I’m remember wrong, but thought it was in one of the wvw twitch streams. I don’t have the time today to go back and review them all…

That’s definitely a good point. I’m guessing that may be the whole reason behind making the numbers so high in the first place. Achievements are how you track progress, unlike in say, wow, where you had both an achievements page and a statistics page. I’m hoping a dev will respond to this thread with a confirmation or denial – I couldn’t find any other threads about this topic.
About as good as Giant slayer.
If dulfy’s math is right it takes around 18.5h to do giant slayer if you grind it in groups. Not that much.

They could just divide by 1,000 on all these and bring them back into the realm of plausibility.

I got close to 20k achievement points and never saw such a guild.
Yes giant slayer is annoying, but not out of reach.
You only need 2 players to spawn two giants at the brisban event. So basically you and a friend will guest to two servers. Kill brisban giants, nageling giant, and Kol on each server, 12 giants down. Repeat 84 times to complete the achievement.
CoE story mode final boss is also a giant, so there’s an incentive to complete that on all your characters.
Anet has always been crazy with numbers, even in GW1. And let’s not forget the PvP ones :

Or the Hero title (which a few actually got after I don’t remember how many years) : "You would need to win 2,509 times consecutively to gain the 100,000 fame needed to max this title. This would take over 500 hours of holding Halls. "

The crappiness of WvW achievements didn’t bother me until they started giving chests for them.

How long do they still wait to change something so ridiculous like these titles, somethign that should have never existed like this in this way from the begin of…
The WvW titles felt already from begin on a year ago, as if Anet would want to troll us all with them and over a year ago still nothign changed about them.
Changing some silly numbers isn’t really a huge effort..
This is a real tiny change, that could be basically changed every day by just cutting down the numbers to a normal size.
However, the new Eotm Achievements show, that currently even 2 of the WvW Achievement Titles are revamped now in the game with much easier taks with just much lower numbers …
Whats seriously so hard about it to make out of a 1000000 requirement of points just a 10000 requirement for example as a new max??
I#ve made already a long time ago some siginificant suggestions around how Naet should improve the WvW Titles or the overall basic system around them on gaining point,s that ANet should improve the gaining of points towards these titles by changing the WvW Achievements in to Social Achievements where everything what people of your same realm do on the wvw maps will count towards also your achievement progression for WvW… so that if somebody else of your realm kills a Dolyak, that you will also get a point for it …
That way people will support each other with whatever they do on the map and all profitate from each other playing actively on the map…
That way wouldnt be the high requirements too bad, because people would just gain alot quicker than now their points by just playing on the maps together with all other people of the same server.
Server wide achievements is a silly idea. Making it balanced would be a huge hassle, and then people would just afk in the game to get points, depending on how the system would work. All that needs to be done is a numbers change, anything else seems like needless speculation.
So,10,000 dolyaks for a title, maybe? Yakslapper, Respected Yakslapper, Ultimate Yakslapper, and the like, if tiered titles were to be implemented.
All we need is the attention of the devs. It’s an easily agreed upon issue, and yet I haven’t uncovered any other forum threads about the topic. And most important of all, it’s a pretty easy fix. The only people who would object would be the maybe one or two (or none) who have ever gotten these titles, because they’d be less special.
