Curious why these are soulbound… While some of these fights do take a bit of skill, if I acquire a ticket on a poorly geared lvl 80 I cannot transfer them to my better geared main. Some of the fights are a bit of a dps test.

-Bursting down chomper(as well as keeping him from the meat)
-Bursting down Liadri
etc etc..

I am trying to beat Liadri and I don’t want to do it on any other toon other than my thief

since they made that neat currency wallet, they have to find some other ways to make you want to buy bank tabs

Eh I dont think thats the reason…it might consume two or three more slots, some people have many alts so a bit more maybe. But I doubt thats the reason.

It used to be Account Bound at first but they patched it. The reason is that all your chars get a mail with 5 tickets so you could make some alts, take the tickets, delete and remake them, infinite tickets. Of course the easiest thing to do would be to remove the mails… or allow 4-5 mails per account instead of making them character bound.

I really don’t like the tickets being soulbound. I feel like I can’t play any of my alts this update because I need to be on my level 80s doing content for tickets. Not to mention you can buy 5 tickets at 20s. It feels like a gold sink and I don’t like it. But I guess that’s why they have that new 2 week cash shop item?

It’s so that you had to actually farm for the tickets or buy them rather than logging in to each character, transfer the tickets to your bank, deleting characters and making new ones for an unlimited supply of tickets. That’s just my guess though.

Only lvl 80’s chars should get the mail then. It makes no sense to try the gauntlet with a lvl 20, the upscaling is not really doing fine for me.

Players where creating new characters to just get tickets = reason for nerf.

If you want to nerf new characters tickets – remove mail! Simple! But now I have nearly 100 useless tickets on my alts, and still need to buy them for my main, where your logic, Anet? First think, than do is not your way to fix problems?

Increasingly, Anet has been using the one of the following strategies to ‘fix’ problems:
1. Make the problematic item ‘soul-bound’
or
2. Make the problematic item ‘account-bound’

Problem solved!

Been there, done that. What’s next?

Eh, I had to use my lvl 40 Warrior for “Blobs, Schmobs”. Worked out for me.

Agreed all my lowbies sit on the title screen because to enjoy the event i must play on level 80’s to get anything good, this is poor form imo.

I don’t care if people make alts to farm stuff, all levels should get equivalent rewards..

They are soulbound because ArenaNet doesn’t know how to send a particular in-game mail only to characters that are above a particular level.

Really? So all the invitations to the dungeons not based on character level?

Lol, true. Main reason I needed to use the warrior though was for the single target damage of the rifle :P It seems all my 80s are aoe happy.

You must be imagining things, ArenaNet is not a newbie developer; if they know how to do something, they’d remember how to do it.

When I receive a mail from a player it goes to my account. When I receive mail from ANet it goes to my characters most of the times. I would love for ANet to make mails go to my account (deleting 18 mails that point out they added a wallet to the game…).
We might get less tickets in total from the mail, but the added flexibility immediately negates that.

Please ANet, please make your mails go to my account (like when buying an item in the gem store). You have proven you can do it. It saves me deleting so many mails on every living story as well, which is getting a tiny bit annoying and we can have items like tickets account bound instead, which makes the gauntlet so much more enjoyable.
