Q:
Why are mid-level zones ignored?
A:
Low level zones are easy for high level characters and contain popular low level events. High level zones give you high tier mats.
Mid level zones don’t really give you anything. Platinum is worthless and then well… yea. Most don’t have unique looks either and often feature annoying terrain. The Ascalon zones tend to be more like that, since it’s miles upon miles of dirt. Shiverpeaks don’t fare better, since they are filled with annoying dredge that keep respawning.
I do like Bloodtide coast because it’s just south of Lion’s Arch though and has 2 events right at the doorstep. It’s an easy way to get some dailies down, though is it just me or did they remove some of the trees lately?
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
it is a problem that every mmorpg has once they are past release
I don’t know of a solution other than having “daily” type of quests to specifically return to those mid level areas.
It is something that saddens me as well. There are DEs there that take more then one person to do and you are the only person there at the time. This makes it so you can not resolve these DEs to see what pretties lying at the end of them

That’s unfortunate, I see mid-levels just leveling in the starter zones instead of progressing into the appropriate areas which is fine, but can be frustrating when you are in a zone full of events and all the camps taken by the enemy because it’s empty, and some of them seem impossible to solo, I wonder if they can put a system to make events not so frequent in zones with a small amount of player in
There is one upside to this. T3 and T4 mats can be farmed for decent returns.

I feel like there might already be such a system for at least some of the events, as I often times find that events start up as I approach the area (/some are triggered by the player actively). Perhaps it’s a problem with perspective though, but I feel like a lot of the times, the failed events occur because the player that was near it ignored it or couldn’t complete it, not because there was simply no one around. If you mean making it so that GROUP events don’t start unless a certain X number of people are around on the other hand… that might be something I feel could be made, however a lot of times group events are tied to an event chain that can be solo’ed up to that point.

What I have been preaching for since Dec. is for guilds to make DE raid groups to go through each zone and do all the DEs in that zone. 1 day – 1 zone. There are 26 zones with active DEs to resolve and as said take more then one to do them. That can keep a group of people occupied for a while there.
It is like being a preacher in a church full of atheist. It’s not working.

I think this has merit, but I think it wouldn’t do anything, since the events seem to pop up in quick succession. I just found a partner to clear the events in Dredgehaunt, logged off in Fridgardr lodge for an hour and logged back in to find it taken by the dredge yet again, and looking at the map seems all the other events popped up too. That’s pretty annoying heh. I didn’t know they popped up based on player activity though. so maybe my server is shy.
