Why are threads on botting being closed?
Imagine your life, and 100 people coming up to you during a day with the same complaint. The first few you listen to openly and ponder their complaints. After about 10 or so you realize there is an issue and you decide it needs attention. After 100 you are telling people to go screw themselves you’ve heard it already, you get it!

Meanwhile today bots are warping all over the place gathering? And the only response given thus far has been “report them.” Even though it has already been explained how difficult that is to do with the warping going on.
It would reflect badly On the DR system if botting was still “known” to happen? Or was that too cynical a response?

I would like to see more threads dedicated to showing posters how to use a search function, rather than creating a brand new thread or 15 every day saying the exact same things.
Of course if we had too many threads showing people how to use the search function I would expect the moderators to “attack” that problem by deleting some of them or merging them.

This was very helpful. Now we can all search to find the closed threads that I am talking about and ask the same question I did. Good job!!
The main reason is that there is a sticky dedicated to this subject and we don’t require more, that would be overkill on this forum with so many being created daily. The devs are FULLY aware of the problem and have stated they are dealing with it. They just deal with it in waves rather than after every forum post/report.
And most threads about botting are abotut the same thing, blinking nude node miners, characters farming moa’s, goups of 3 in the same area moving about at the same time in the same direction…I am sure they get tired of reading the same thing over and over again.
But it’d be cool if these bots just poofed-be-gone.

Gotcha, a 4 month old sticky clearly shows the “dedication” they outline in that thread. Of course the last post in that thread said they will not “report to players the steps they are taking.” In other words, just trust Anet to do the job!! No matter what your eyes tell you.

This is the same thing I see said in every game I have ever played. So you can assume one of two things. They are lying to you and they really love bots and just want you to shut up. Or they are working on the issue and it’s not as easy as complaining on a forum to solve an actual problem. Then when they do solve it the botters discover another way around the fixes they implement. Then new action is required.

Because there’s a massive conspiracy to shut us up. There are no bots. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Joking aside and tin-foil hat off, they know there’s an issue, they’re working on it, and cluttering the forums with the exact same thing isn’t going to make it go any faster.

I’m not saying I don’t agree with you, the sticky is mad old, from when the game started, and the issue is now worse than ever. I hate these lame bots as much as anyone else does, and it’s a slow burn seeing them ingame, while we have documented and reported for months now, with no visible relief in sight.
I do not know why I am expecting results from Anet. It took them months to shut down gold spam.

Deleting repetitive threads saying the same thing is attacking players?
It is like several other things they do not want to talk about.. Hey I got a inbox msg on buying gold . Did they want to hear it no especially when they come to forum inbox.. Botting has pretty much killed these types of platforms years ago. As long as the drop rates are bad and there are people who just gotta have that one item there will be botting… And I can safely say most of these games have bots and always will have bots.
