I was looking at some of the more expensive armor listed on the Market and noticed that by buying the same exact stated gear with an open slot instead of already having a rune, it was about 80% cheaper.

For example the Zhed boots are listed for 12 gold. I can buy the same exact stated boots without the Superior Rune of the Centaur, and with an open slot instead for about 2 gold. The Superior Rune of the Centaur cost about 40s, so for about 2.4 I can have the exact same stats as the Zhed boots.

My question is why are people buying these “named” sets for insane prices when they can just buy the lesser named items for 80% off?

Are people actually paying that much or is that simply what the small fraction of people with access to them are listing them for? This is the real question…

You can’t do that for Traveler’s gear for example, you need to get Jatoro’s. For the craft armors what you state may be true.

Just like how some people buy certain real world items— the name. Sure, there might be a certain luxury attached to some of them, but in most other cases, you’re only paying for the brand name.

Some people act like form should be more valuable than function. Both sellers and buyers.

Isn’t it obvious ? Because you cant go running around calling people Two Legs without Zhed gear . I mean it doesn’t get much simpler than that now does it
