Q:
Why can I not sell mini pets?
A:
The only ones that we can sell are those bought from the minipacks from the gemstore. Others are from achievements and such. Being able to buy/sell those ones would make the rewards for those events/achievements seem a lot less/useless.
ah, thanks, I see now …
Teq’s minis sell fairly well. Takes a day or so to sell though without undercutting. You know.. when he feels like actually giving you one that is. /shakes fist.
It seems very inconsistent to me which ones can be sold and which can’t.
Personally I think they should all be tradeable. Half the fun of collecting minis in GW1 was trying to find people willing to sell the ones you missed out on when they were originally available.
With the exception of the HoM ones because you can get an infinite number of them and it’d be unfair if people could just keep selling them.

You can also sell any that are loot drops, but there are very few minis that drop as such.

Just check the tool tip of the mini and if it says account bound, you cant sell it.

I know. What I mean is it seems inconsistent which ones they make account bound. For example the mini Karka, Karka Hatchlings and Reef Drake were a rare drop from a temporary RNG box and they can be sold, but the Festive Golem, Snowman and Infinirarium which dropped in exactly the same way a month later are account bound.
The Helmed Racing Moa and Yellow Moa are a reward from an in-game activity (moa racing) and they’re not account bound, but the mini Liadri (also an activity reward) is.
I assume it’s down to which team develops the content and how they want to handle it but I think it would be better to be consistent.

I think this could actually be a good idea. It would create a market for rarer minis, such as Liadri, and give collectors the chance to actually be able to complete the whole collection even if they came late to the game.
I know it would defeat the purpose of showing off minis to say you were there for that event but if it was really that important to prove it to someone you could just send a screenshot of the finished achievement to them.
I was personally disappointed that all my B-Day characters got the exact same Queen Jenna miniature. Kind of sad considering we used to get a random mini per character, and since there’s no (currently) point in having multiple copies, it’s rather a wasted opportunity (I would have welcome a random chance to get one you still don’t have regardless rarity, even though it’s not a big deal.)
