People just like saying that for some reason when in reality nothing about a certain class’s weapon breaks lore. Their dream has been for every class to eventually have access to every weapon. With specializations they finally have a way to work towards that.

Doesn’t break lore. They said long ago, before launch, that they would like every profession to be able to use every weapon. It was probably an issue more with balancing and a way to have the professions get new things when they had expansions.

You could pretty much ask the same thing about any weapon and any profession. The answer lies in gameplay, more than in lore. Though of course theme of the profession does play some role in why each profession has access to it’s weapons. I can see most Guardians prefering more nobel/honorable weapons over pistols and rifles. However, that is only ‘most Guardians’ and not ‘all Guardians’.

Why can’t every class use every weapon and infinite weapon skill builds for everyone and world peace?

I wouldn’t mind another main hand for mesmer, though…

They probably can. They just choose not to. Just like how a master swordsman usually wouldn’t chose to use a bow.

Of course not lore breaking, but if i think of a guardian, the first picture in my mind is that of a human guardian with mace/sword + shield and heavy,golden, angel-like armor.
And thinking of angels i don’t know a popular angelic gunslinger.
If we talk about a steampunky charr guardian, than that would be a total other story.

In short i would say, most people think of the guardian more like an angel-like knight than a van-Hellsing in plate armor.

Never thought of that because I was too caught up on the healbow. But those light blasts you talk about, I want them now. xD Especially since I already got Calcite rifle skin. <3

I think coming from a Roleplay perspective, in character guardians would usually be too dignified to use firearms.

OP mentioned the cleansing power of silver bullets. :P

The way I see it, the guardians are kinda like leader figures in a party. They support and inspire others, which may be why their weapons are more traditional and ornate in nature. It gives them more of a presence and makes them seem more charismatic and dignified than, say, a person wielding a rifle or pistol would come accross.

I’m glad they’re adding the longbow, because it’s a better fit. I just hope the weapon skills will be unique and stand out from the longbow skills we see on the warrior and ranger.

Arent they getting bows? Which is more ridonkulous imo…
