I don’t understand why ascended gear cant be sold or salvaged. It is the “best there is” yet it has no market value. Unlike legionaries which can be sold as well as stats change. Plus most the ascended gear that drops usually has horrible stat combinations (unable to salvage or sell it just sits in bank as filler). I guess i just don’t understand the reasoning behind this. If anyone has any ideas? It would be great to at least somewhat understand why… Thanks

Two words, gold sink.

Well for crafting ascended its a gold sink i completely agree. But what about the ones that drop? Doesn’t really take any gold to get those ones..

I think they wanted to ensure that the best equipment in the game was gotten through actually playing (or at least crafting) not cash > gems > gold > gear.

Why legendaries can be traded is beyond me. I assume it was an oversight and by the time it became apparent they were worried about angering people who made them to sell.

but cash>gems>gold is how ANet want you to play, you can buy 90% of what you need for acended gear with real money, same as a legendries, granted a lot of money, but if you have it….
