Globs of ectoplasm for example. Cant deposit those into a collectables tab in the bank? Why not?

There are also many many other crafting materials that cant be deposited. Its like you guys didnt finish all the tabs for the collectables in the bank?

GW1 let us deposit every crafting material into a special tab made for that material including ectoplasm.

All mid-process components would be nice too. Silver settings/bands/hooks etc.

yeah I totally agree. I have one bank slot entirely for those materials. Then, again, that’s the point, because I am supposed to buy another bank slot ;-)

But I absolutely agree, depositing ALL materials would be so great. They could even sell that in the gem store, seriously.

It’s not “unfinished.” Rare+ crafting mats do not have slots in the collectibles pane by design. They’re special items for special recipes, many of which you will never see a single drop of from 1-80. Having them in collectibles would A) Send the wrong message about them, B) Clutter up the collectibles pane, and C) Remove any aspect of unexpected discovery.

I definitely feel for people doing cooking though (Everyone else not so much. If you’re creating 100 dowels or filigree, you’re Doing It Wrong. The percentage of your base material types that need to be converted into these is variable and should be done on demand.)

The collectibles bank is really just an “Extra” thing that I’m just glad exists AT ALL.

However, I would love it if when I was crafting, it would look to the collectibles AND the regular bank for materials (since we need to use the regular bank to store all the non-collectible items). I could deal with that.

Or .. just add everything to collectibles. That works too.

It does do this. Your collectibles tab, inventory, and bank stash’s items all appear and you can craft from any of them.
(edit-lol stash and items gets kittened out)

A) Precisely what wrong message would this send?
B) Nonsense. All they’d have to do is make another tab for them below the fine crafting materials.
C) Nonsense. You’d still have to discover everything that you currently have to discover. I fail to see how adding “Onyx Shard” to the collectables pane would remove any aspect of unexpected discovery. These materials instantly appear in the discovery tab anyway.

I have about a dozen different things in my bags that are used solely for crafting and can’t be placed in the collectables tab. These aren’t items that I crafted. They’re base materials. The wiki lists 40 such “Rare Crafting Materials” and these don’t even include Ectoplasm.
