You don’t. Only writing requires logging in. It just asks your logins if you have been logged in and had a timeout and reload the page.
You don’t have to log in when you just want to read. Replying/making a topic requires you to log in.

If your browser does not save cookies or remember pages open, and you were logged in before, it will ask you to log in each time the page/browser is closed, I believe, unless you manually log out.

no, you’re right. the forum is a bit buggy, sometimes clicking any link randomly redirects you to the login page, even if youre already logged in. It’s pretty rare, but I’ve seen it twice or thrice as well
Some GW2 site link redirects require logging in (it’s a different log-in than the forums require, though the log-in page looks the same [some log-ins have redirects attached]), and sometimes posting or other links just happen to be at a time that corresponds to the regular approximately-daily log-in. I don’t think that part is a bug.
Definitely an inconvenience when posting, though. I wish it would save your post, or warn you that a log-in is imminent.
