Ok, so I heard about the new spirit shard system and all but what I can’t figure out is why I keep getting experiences and leveling up my 80 character if I get nothing out of it no more? (which is kind of sad IMO) The bar filled up and once it was all full it got reset back to zero, and I can still fill it up. I don’t understand.

The system is going to work for the mastery system once it is instituted. It probably didn’t make sense for them to remove it and then readd it later.

You are getting one Hero Point each time you level up. Those are used to buy your traits and skills, and will be used for other things in the expansion.

You used to gain Skill point that way so it made perfect sense.

Once the masteries will be in game, that system will change and past level 80, you gonna be working on them instead.

But right now, we are kind of in-between two system where we level up, but don’t get anything. It doesn’t make sense for anet to put money are resource on a new transition system.

@ Rhapsody. You don’t get hero point anymore once you reach level 80. At least from leveling. You can still get them from challenge.

Not post level you’re not. The only way to get hero points is from 1-80 and hero challenges. You do not get them from leveling post-80.
