That’s what happens when the game trolls you.

I myself haven’t completed a lvl 80 area but if this is the case better wait for Gem prices to drop.

I did a double-take with this too! I just barely completed Cursed Shore and one of the rewards was … more basic Transmutation Stones – good for lvl 79 armor and below.

sigh

Simply because they’d rather have fine transmutation stones to be more gem-exclusive (sure you can get them from the black lion chest when you get some free keys but that is still random and mainly requires you to buy keys).

Basic stones are the junk freebies that they can just throw about, because the fine ones are the only real ones that count as once you hit 80 that’s the end of the line, you don’t need to climb further.

To me, that is kinda pointless as you kinda outlevel your gear and you are constantly replacing it. So it seems like a hassle to contstantly keep transmuting them over and over. I rather (and do) simply just use the unlimited heritage transmutation skins instead.

I’ve got over 50 basic trans stones though, my alts will have more than enough.

Cause ANet likes being able to make a bit of money off of vanity things like that? shrug
