The majority of this games users here are english speaking north american players. Prime time is when they patch.
@ Op I agree completely. What the hell do you people at Anet smoke? I play this games a few hours a week, it seems you screw dragon events every time I do with near miraculous timing.

Yes, this may be true, but this is NA prime time, where they most likely have the majority of their players. Couldnt they do a rolling patch? 5 am for each servers time. Also, not having any explanation why cheeses me off —what is so important that it needs to be fixed RIGHT NOW? Probably some stupid patch for all this new PVE content they introduced. As you can probably tell, I am getting very annoyed, and all these issues with this game are becoming cumulatively annoying.
It doesn’t help that they seem fond of dropping a patch with 3 minutes warning. We were mid-dragon after a long wait.
Got it down to 10% before restart, but of course close doesn’t count – no xp and no chest.
Is there anything that crucial it couldn’t get, say, 20-30 minutes warning?
Edit: the other night we got Jorm down and the entire zone d/ced. So this is twice in one week where I’ve completely wasted my time. As Sprong said, the cumulative annoyance is starting to build up.

Total population of EU is over 500 million …
Given a similar proportion of gamers to population, EU has always had more gamers than NA.

Total population of both areas is meaningless. What is the break down between NA players and European players of GW2? That is meaningful.
If there are significantly more NA players than Europe, then prime time new builds need to stop.
