Why does it zoom your camera when you go into downed state?
You are gravely injured. Blood from your headwound is blinding your eyes. Your brain gives the command to pump adrenaline through your body as a last desperate attempt to keep your body alive long enough to carry yourself to savety.
What better way to illustrate this chaos by zooming in the camera?
I love the zooming in, it makes the downed state much more exciting and dangerous.
I actually agree with OP. This is so irritating. I wish the camera would stay still.
Oh, so it’s a role playing thing?
That’s… interesting…
Well, I think I personally would leave the camera alone and use those “water splash” effects like when you surface, but make them out of blood instead. Maybe add some dark red clouds or something that cut clipping down so you could barely see through it.
You know… simulate an actual shock state… instead of making me look at myself, and only myself while I flail at buttons…
Meh.
I agree that it feels like a bug on my thief in particular, precisely because it not infrequently hoses up the ability to use the escape skill effectively (compounded by the fact that smoke screen doesn’t seem to work reliably in PvE).
On other classes the zoom doesn’t bother me at all, probably because it has so little practical impact, but on my Thief, I hate it.
I think it’s really just about dramatic presentation, and to differentiate itself from normal combat. Almost like you’re entering a mini-game.
I never noticed this until I read this thread, and I have died plenty of times.. I always assumed something was obstructing the camera
but now that you mention it, i like it, it creates a dramatic effect
Your health reached 0, you dont need privileges, downstate is a luxury in this game so there is no need make it even more strong.
