Leveling up events were the main thing for me if I was to enter a new area.

I keep accumulating tons of the stuff, and just noticed that the kits/gathering karma vendors are now gone. Why are we limited to only buying the Orr sets?

Seems pretty major that this is the state of karma.

Its pretty much for cultural stuff and for hard to get exotic gear stats/looks.

Real shame.

I’d use it for cultural stuff, but the skins aren’t even that good for the 63k cost.

i’ll use it to make dyes, food, receipes as well as to get equip while leveling (if not 80 yet)
but i think the karma vendors, which are only selling about 3 different cooking ingredients atm will sell more in the future, when crafting finally serve another purpose other than just leveling (one can dream, right? -_-’)

so i disagree...karma is good for more than just getting your exotics and skins

You can still get kits for karma, you just have to go out into the world and find the right vendors. All they did was remove the centralized vendor that had them all, which had been making the others obsolete.

As far as I know, there are none for master salvage kits. However, if I’m wrong, I want someone to correct me with the location of the vendor that has them. The harvest tools are in Orr, but they don’t have the salvage kits there.

There not if you like the armor’s, and there is a decent range you can get, and thanks to transmuting stones it’s pretty much never ending customization. Don’t know why some people are complaining.

Master kits I’m not sure about. I’ve bought some of the other kits before, but I don’t remember where exactly.

Every heart NPC is a karma vender. They have all sorts of stuff you can get with karma. Armor, weapons, jewelery, recipes etc. I personally use the karma for armor. I found the armor to be nice and better than anything else I get from loot. I figure why buy armor from the TP when I can use karma and save the coin for other things. I’ll assume at this point there will be highest possible stats items I’ll want that needs karma and will end up saving for them at some point.

Once you hit 80 its worthless unless you are going for a legendary weapon.

And again, once you hit 80 it’s pointless, it’s not a replacement for gold and it most certainly doesn’t fully suppliment it at the moment, karma is your incentive for doing De’s over time, and the massive amount of it needed if you’ve not been actively stockpiling it for cultural is bleh…

It’s a great idea, but it’s been abused and panic patched

@junkkis:

200k karma is a kitten-ton of karma

9G is nice, but 200k karma to 9g is pretty insane

It’s simply a good habit to use it for salv kits and ignore it unless you want to get legendaries, which are the grindiest of grind fest endeavors xD

I wanted to save up my karma for cultural armor (l40/60/80), but for some reason that costs gold instead (which makes no sence at all IMO). I had planed to get a few nice looking karma weapons as i leveled aswell (as i go for looks more than anything) but shockingly the early karma weapons looks can be purhcased for a few copper.

Right now i’ve spend around 300 karma total (level 52 so far) and that was to get the jotun greatsword as it fit right in with my armor.

I used the Karma during leveling up and I wasn´t really looking for specific items as you outlevel them so fast it didn´t seem worth to bother. Unless you are into cosmetics/rare skins, the hundred thousands of Karma you collect really seem useless.

I see at level 80 it is a different story. But the OP didn’t make that clear if this was about level cap use. In that case yes the intention is that you would continue playing karma rewarding content if you want to earn the karma priced fancy stuff. Which btw appears to me to be equivalent to the 15k armor concept we had in GW1. Which was according to them way back then: something meant to take months for those that wanted to keep playing and needed some sort of reward for that continued playing. In short a long term reward for continued play. Dungeon exotics appear to be this sort of thing as well.

I’m currently leveling a Precision/Condition-based Engineer. There are no armor or weapons available on the Heart vendors with this stat combo, they are all Power.

So for me, the gear available is useless, and has been for the last 5 zones I have been in. Apparently Karma is going to be useless to me until I’m 80.
