Why don’t Mordrem count as plants for the plant slayer achievement? After all they are plants aren’t they?

Good question, is there a separate Mordrem Slayer achievement?

For the same reason that risen giants don’t count as giants?

They aren’t plants.
Sylvari don’t count as plants either.

Risen don’t count as their living version, but as Risen, no matter which race they are.

Krall Peterson – Warrior

Risen don’t count as their living version, but as Risen, no matter which race they are.

Everything only falls into a single category for the Slayer achievements.
Sylvari may be plants but the only Sylvari you fight are Nightmare Court and as there is a “Nightmare Court’s Bane” slayer achievement they count against that.
Risen count against the “Zhaitan’s Bane” slayer achievement.

Mordrem are plants and there is no alternative slayer category for them to fall into so really they need to add a “Mordremoth’s Bane” slayer achievement or allow them to count as plants.

True, Risen X always falls into the Risen category.
But the thing is there is no Mordrem category for them to fall into.

I think as Nidome.1365 said a simple Mordremoth’s Bane category would fit it just fine.

I’m pretty sure there’s a Mordrem category, it just doesn’t (currently?) have an associated achievement track for killing them.

Because Anet didn’t consider genealogy in-depth before adding their creatures and slayer titles.

The only thing that really counts as a plant is the Treant type: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Treant

Also known as Oakhearts. Of all the plant creatures in the game, the only one that is a plant is the reincarnated HUMAN DRUID…

If they would have taken a page from the animal kingdom chart thingy and added some coding inheritance we could be getting points for plants from all of the plant types as well as the specific creature types.

Risen would count for undead as well as their respective race/creature type as well.

But they didn’t so we only get one type for each creature and many of them don’t make sense.
