I mean… the only thing you do is punish those that have a short DC. I’ve just done a whole event, got myself 25 stacks on the last 10 seconds I dc and boom. Reward gone. If people kept their stacks they could not even abuse it because they only last for an hour, so either they’d have to miss out on the others maps and get less while at the same time not playing the character that has the stacks. It’s not like having 50 stacks because you got it through doing the same map twice is going to change the reward, because you still put just as much work into getting those stacks. It just seems like a flawed idea to me. This game needs to seriously make DCing less punishing for these kind of events.

A problem a lot of us suffer from all too commonly with GW2’s game servers.

They really need to add a map slot reservation system, that keeps your slot for 2 minutes after disconnecting, and also make map-specific buffs not expire right away either.

I’m not looking forward to HoT map mechanics if they don’t solve the random disconnect issues by implementing such a system... or, by fixing the disconnects in the first place (how is it a routing issue if people from all over Europe keep disconnecting randomly for over a year now?).

I had the same problem, and reading some other posts on this subject I see that a lot of people are pretty p*ssed off by those DC’s near the end of the event. I DC’d after 25 min and lost all the stacks I had accumulated, resulting in no reward, only costs (WP’s).

Considering the current state of the game, where DC’s have become more common in the last few weeks, it is strange that the developers don’t realise that creating 30 min zerg events will create DC’s for several people, and that keeping your hard earned stacks (spending 30 min on an event which isn’t much fun, only to earn those blooms) is kind of a safety net, and is simply needed.

The consequence of DC’ing and reentering the map, is another problem currently. You usually end up in a different instance, most of the time with just a few people in it. I had this problem several times before, and it is really annoying. Like when you about to fight the VW champion and you DC and get back in a different, empty instance…
Why can’t we get back in the same instance after a DC?
