Why gw2 is frustrating to play in my opinion
trust me there are many many more things that make this a frustration fest. pvp and wvw and the culling issue is just the tip of the iceberg.
1-combat mechanics it is my skill vs this heavy bag of hp who can kill me in one hit(i wish if they change it to skill vs skill.
2-skills tied to weapons.no skills to make my own build not the 3 builds that the game offer everyone.
3-all proffisions feels the same because all classes have the same skills on weapons.
4- dose this game have loot.
5- too much randomness in everything . take the mesmer for example too many skills that offer random stuff that may save ur live or help you finish the enemy or give somthing u don’t need at that time.
and what you wrote.
It’s kind of funny on the culling. It has gotten much, much worse after the last patch that was addressing it. The irony is amusing. I’m talking about open world PvE and I believe they may have been targeting WvW initially. The Harathi Hinterlands were a joke last night. I could see friendlies fighting something a few feet away but couldn’t see the enemies. At least they were my cue that enemies were present. A couple more steps in their direction and sure enough, there they were.
And, it’s not just enemies. Run into the BLTC in LA and you will be the only one there for a couple seconds then a roomful of people appears. At least it doesn’t kill you but it does break immersion. I think they should realize that culling is a problem, not just in WvW with enemies, but a problem in the game.
It is really sad how bad it has gotten. I mean PVE culling! I now have to get to spawn points in order to tag mobs now. Heaven forbid you stumble upon an event cause I have been downed a few times not seeing anything then orrians appear after I am dead.
It keeps getting worse and worse every day. Especially after the last patch. It is just stupid that it effects things so much.
The most frustraiting thing for me – not balanced professions. i mean…ok, they pretty balanced in dps. but why its so many mesmers, guardians and elems at WWW? just cuz they have so usefull tricks. i always play rangers and hunters in MMO games, but its useless in organized WWW action. noone wants to see ranger in meleetrain. same with engi, my favorite profession after ranger… if i want to be as usefull as guardian in WWW – i should create guardian. no other ways.
1. Culling.
2. To many Glass canon builds, and way to high burst capability.
3. Arenanet wants you to explore the world, but gives us waypoints instead of mounts to travel with. Seriously, something needs to be done with WvW.
4. No variety in the PvP.
Broken/weak classes vs. overpowered classes.
My main is an engineer so I’ve got quite a lot I could say about that. I made a warrior for the first time yesterday, I was taken aback. I could play that class in my sleep, and it’s almost impossible for the character to die unless I’m just standing there taking hits and not fighting back. Good grief.
The lag and crashing. I can’t even do dragon events without lagging out and then crashing, and 50% of the time (no exaggeration) I try to travel into a city I crash. 70% if I’m trying to get into a dungeon instance. My fellow guild members have come to expect it every time we do fracs.
The culling. I’m scared to even try to play wvw after this newest patch with those culling issues.
GW2.exe loves to leave its process running after being closed.
Aaand just everything that’s had repeated attempted fixes that have only broken them further.
Lets not mention Lost Shores and just leave that mess in the past, at least we don’t have to play it over and over again.
