Since the launch of HoT the back item Fiber Splice acquired through random drops in CoE has spiked heavily in price. Why is this? I have done as much digging as humanly possible and, as far as I can find, it is not a component in any mystic toilet recipe nor does it salvage into anything exceptionally valuable. So why is it suddenly sought after?

I’ve only had one rare Splice drop but it sold very nicely.

On a related note then, why is a level one staff selling for 40 silver now?

I got one as a drop, held it for a couple of days because I though the price was a fluke, and sold it yesterday for forty silver.

I know the supply is lower but I am confused as to why there is a demand at all. The exotic jewel gotten from this is only worth 86s and the 3 ectos you could in theory get from it are worth about them same. This is way below the order price of 9g so why is there this level of demand?

I didn’t say it made sense. But after Wanze posted that, the price soared. Because of his post? For other reasons? I don’t know.

Since I have many other ways of putting back pieces on my alts and no immediate jewelcrafting plans, I’m happy to make some extra coins to turn into glacial lodestones. Darn that bat shoulder thing, making a legendary-lite that is actually within my attention span …
