For me Logan is very contra from time to time.

To set a good example for Anet.

Every time I do a dungeon involving him, he just walks up to enemies and collapses in an explosion of melee damage.

I want him to be replaced by somebody else so he can go back to being the kitten leather wearing warhammer wielding trapper he was in the beginning of Destiny’s Edge. I loved him so much until the Queen came into the picture.

THANK YOU! That’s exactly how I feel! He was actually pretty cool, until… that happened. Seriously, the first words he muttered when she appeared was, “she’s… beautiful,” then started acting like a love-sick moron all the time. After that, it was “my queen” this and “I’m yours forever” that. It didn’t help that Jennah basically paraded him around saying, “check it fools, this guys my b****, come at me!” I basically lost all respect for him the minute he when full tool like that. I don’t blame Rytlock for wanting to gut him where he stands.

Funny thing is, when I read that line from Logan, my first thought was, “I’ve got jungle fever, she’s got jungle fever, We’ve got jungle fever, we’re in love!”

I also feel that’s when the story went downhill. Logan and Jennah exchanging love letters? There are Asura gates everyehere! The dude could have got up in the middle of the night, literally jumped through a hoop and snuck into her room whenever her felt like it! That face time would have made it more convincing when Jennah decided to choose him as her champion. I’m even sure Anise would have allowed them some time alone as it would have improved Jennah’s mood and Logan is so whipped, he spanks himself!

^ That’s why I think Sea of Sorrows is sooooo much better, both in terms of writing style and storytelling. Haven’t read Ghosts of Ascalon yet, but I heard that was really good too. Basically, Edge of Destiny is the least impressive of the three books, and I put most of the blame on that tool, Logan.

Seriously, every time I see him in the game, I have to shout out, “You’re such a tool, Logan! I hate you, Logan!” I wish there were dialogue options where you could point out how whipped he is, and then show him how a real adventurer fights.

Considering Zhaitan never throws him at us anywhere, there’s a good chance he’s alive. Would love it if it turned out that a Largo came and saved the order mentors, and they ended up in Tengu territory. Would be rather nice…or pull a “all 3 order mentors were there” move and have it so they saved each other and managed to get out, only to be wrecked somewhere (again, preferably Tengu territory).

Still… I had more fun doing missions with Logan than I did Trahearne.

Logan may be an oaf and he may be whiny, but that’s character. Sometimes having a character you hate because of character traits can be good for a story.

Ironically, in the books, the Sylvari are just overflowing with personality and accidental humor. In the game, they are often used to fulfill a role in merging MMO and Story (like Trahearne or Scarlet.)

That’s where our main human rep (Logan) stands out. Aside from his role in Story Dungeons, he’s interesting to me. Even at times were I think he’s annoying, he’s still interesting. When he’s around, it’s the story of Logan and not just the story of that Trahearne guy we put there because we couldn’t possibly have every player as the main hero of Tyria.

That is why Logan is so pro.
