Why are they selling white armors and weapon ?
Does that have any purpose in the game ? Did anyone ever bought that ?

Why did they invent white armor and weapon if nobody is using it or buying it. Its just a pile of garbage in the game polluting the virtual world.

Will they ever clean up the pollution in this game by removing unnecessary things?

I brought it early on.

I believe its from the early stages of Vanilla GW2, when Weapon skills had to be unlocked.

So you would try to buy the weapons and start unlocking the skills in WvW. They wouldnt be the best weapons, but thats what low level weapons are for honestly.

Aren’t they useful in PvP, since their stats don’t matter, for those who don’t have those weapons and want to try them?

I bought those weapons for PvE, way back when I was first starting and didn’t have either gold to spend on the trading post or alternate weapons to try out. They were a useful cheap alternative till I got better stuff.

I’ve bought them a few times on low level characters when I didn’t have the time to wait for a particular weapon type to drop. Plenty of others have done the same.

It’s so you can always have armour appropriate for your level without having to buy it on the trading post. You don’t have to buy it, so why do you have a problem in the first place? oO

As said. Skins, weapons skills, different weapons for pvp. Ive bought several when playing around with newer characters in pvp. Also buy a few from time to time of I’m leveling instead of buying expensive stuff on the TP. sometimes a higher level white is stronger than a low lever blue.

I haven’t needed the white weapons for a long time, not since the NPE came into effect, but they used to be a fast way to get a collection of all weapons for skill unlocks.

Otoh the merchants are still extra spots in the world to sell junk to. No need to buy anything from them to find them useful.

1. Because you may have high MF and so rarely get those basic skins as drops as your basic drops are often upgraded to fine.
2. Because you may need quick gear for PvP. You need at least chest, legs and boots for PvP.
3. Because you may need a quick and cheap back item to apply some skin.
4. Because we don’t have this feature, so lots and lots of vendors have pointless worthless crap instead interesting stuff. Without limited random stocks in vendors, they can’t put many items on many vendors, or people would exploit them. So limited random stocks are needed to make vendors interesting.

this is kind of a bad reason, the white armor skins could just have easily been blue armor skins.

Eh, I probably bought a few white armors in my first few days of playing GW2, when I needed to upgrade my gear.

Why not have them?

Some vendors selling low level armor to PvP or low level chars that need them isn’t a sign of the game’s moral decay.

Your practically frothing at the mouth about some niche use vendors. Just because you yourself don’t have a use for them doesn’t mean that others don’t use them or that bugs will go unfixed.

I think the bigger question is: why did you feel the need to censor your skills? =P

He probably doesn’t anyone stealing his build.

Yet he didn’t censor the Mistfire Wolf…flaunting it much.

I’m curious why you’re hiding all of your weapon skills and utilities but not that mistfire wolf elite.

If any of them were to be embarrassing, it’d probably be that one.

Sometimes, i buy a stack of those and sell them on the tp for profit.
Plenty of people buying them because they think they can cheaply salvage mats off them.

in a time when you don’t have any other elite unlocked, i hardly see that as anything embarrassing. (why ppl are ashamed of their build is a serious X-files case becuase it just makes no sense)

anyway, if they made all armor stats flat out and not put it on higher tiers then they would not be so useless…..and they wonder why the grind is so high -_-

The white items were also there for transmutation purposes to roll back items from being soulbound to account bound.. remember the yellow and blue crystal shard thingies, but that use has now been negated with transmutation stones.

Now they are, as other have said, just used for players to unlock skills, keep their armour/weapons stats appropriate to level and more likely skins/collection.

TBH tho, they don’t really have any negative effect in the game so not really worth worrying about here.

I think what they guy is getting at overall, is there is a ton of useless items in the game.

Looks like an Engineer to me, given F2-F3-F4 are ground targeted skills. Skill 5 is also ground targeted but I don’t know Engie well enough to know if that suggests a base weapon or kit equipped.
