Why is it that....

All I can say is, because that’s how they want it.

It must be. I had a pretty good thread going. 2k+ views, tons of support, and then it gets moved to the Suggestions thread… Since then it’s gotten 3 views and not another reply. Figures.
And another thing. Have any of those suggestions actually seen the light of day in-game? I highly doubt it. All I can say is that’s pretty shady to just send valid threads away to die just as they start gaining support.

It doesn’t matter how much support a thread has. It really doesn’t. Because Anet doesn’t base it’s decisions based solely on player opinion.
When Anet said there would be no way to change Eye color, there was an outcry from the community and they added it…but it was before the forums.
You seem to think that replying to a suggestion means they’re aware of it. Obviously Anet is monitoring what’s currently going on, ie the Living Story. It doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not aware of other suggestions. They simply don’t reply to them.
I’m not sure that most developers comment on most suggestions. But it doesn’t mean they’re not aware of them.
Anet will institute stuff on their timeline, not on anyone elses, which is pretty much how it should be.
Because suggestions is filled with frivolous desires and Queen’s Jubilee is filled with awesome.
You should look at the dungeon sub-forum
…you scroll through the first couple pages of suggestions or general discussion there are no dev replies but you look at Living Story / Queen’s Jubilee, dev reply every other post?
Why is it that valid threads and suggestions brought up by players get a ton of attention and then moved to the suggestion forum where posts go to die?
Yet you see the same thread made 100 times ie: NERF LIADRA! NERF GAUNTLET threads 100x over get made and replied to?
I just don’t understand…
When it comes to the Living Story stuff, I suspect it may be because those sections get higher traffic more often than not. Players are more likely to go there to ask questions, post criticism, and discuss the current content more. Not to say the discussion here doesn’t also do that, but it tends to drift more towards some current broader meta issues.

Queen’s Jubilee is filled with hundreds of threads worded differently all saying “NERF QUEEN’S GAUNTLET”
twitch.tv/mdogg2005
And conspiracy/RP threads which is awesome.
Because this section of the forum has been rotating the same threads since the game launched.
Queens Jubilee is happening now and will only be around for a month- the devs reply often to answer questions and to explain things people don’t always understand even after they answered them.
It is a good way for them to see how people are reacting to the current content
Also the LS threads are often fun as Zacchary has said

People constantly misuse the subforums. Suggestions should have the most activity but everyone posts it in the discussion therefor people don’t even bother visiting the suggestion sub.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I mean it’s very discouraging posting suggestions that are extremely valid and well received by TONS of people, but then are moved to other sub forums that are completely ignored.
I have a post in QJ forum get 2k views in under a day. Over the next 24 hours it got less than 20 views. People previously posting and providing feedback and support. Now the thread is dead in a sea of other dead posts that never get seen by anyone…

Maybe you should make 2 threads. One thread is the suggestion and the other one is a discussion about your suggestion and links to your suggestion-thread.

I haven’t checked, but I’m not sure if that’s allowed.

Me neither and it would require a lot of more moderation, I think.

Not sure but if you’re curious, the thread I made is found here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Please-apply-the-same-affect-to-Fellblades/first
and there’s really no downside to supporting it so please show some love in there if you feel inclined. =)

I would but I don’t like your idea, sorry I enjoy the fellblade they way it is.

Fair enough then. No problem.

Why would you not use suggestion forums? Because this is what happens with suggestions.
“Suggestion: building siege weapons in World vs. World stops when you’ve spend 10 supplies. I suggest changing it so that is stops at when building is complete or when the builder runs out of resources”
This kind of reasonable suggestion would get replies like “meh”, “l2p scrub”, “it’s good that way no problem” or just ignored and quickly dropped to 10th page of the subforum. Then you have people making outlanding suggestions like…
“Suggestion: scrap the whole living story and make something else in place of it like ridable tyrannosaurus with lasers.”
This kind of suggestion gets lots of replies ranging from disagreement to agreement from annoyed players. It generates tons of views, “likes” and discussion and as a result stays in the top of suggestion subforum. Yet it’s doesn’t present any kind of actionable plan to Anet and makes the other players in suggestions subforum think why even bother.
although i’ve seen many suggestion from suggestion forum that saw the light of day, example:
-wallet
-removal of magic find from gear
-aoe loot
-activity in other cities rather than LA
ecc ecc
so maybe devs don’t post there but surely somebody read it and the very good and popular idea become true

I just don’t understand…
Because it is normal that recent creations are more interesting to their creators than older ones.
Because most threads – and I guess by that you mean complaints – have been heard and thoroughly discussed for a million times here. Zerker this, mount that, I want trinity, I want this game to be like my beloved wow, I want to play a healer, nerfing my personal farming spot is an outrage, conspiracy theory Nr. x etc. Personally I wouldn´t bother to waste time on them yet again and again either.
To be fair, if they did reply to suggestions they’d either get shot down for not wanting/being able to do it or for not implementing it fast enough or the way you want it.
I would not look for dev replies in the suggestion forum. I am sure they do read them but they don’t use them as a guide for the next patch either. I would be disappointed if they did actually.
As much as I would like them to implement some things I do know that I do not represent everybody or even a majority. Maybe at some points I do but I just don’t know. So I can’t assume Anet must respond to my every whim.
On the other hand it may not be a bad thing for them to show some transparency whenever they implement something new how they took certain ideas into account. But I’m sure the last thing they want is people getting the idea they can solely change this game in spite of everyone else’s wishes.
Either way, any response they give will likely only give negative comments mostly. It’s a no win situation for them I’d say.
