Why is the Cultural T3 set not exotic?
Agreed. Something is wrong with having that set selling for so high when the only use for it is to be reskined. You can buy all exotic armor for about 12 gold. Paying 100 for an armor no where near as good just for the looks and for the looks of them to be what they are just isn’t worth it. I could understand if the looks where more eye catching.
The armour found on karma vendors in the Cursed Isle zone (lvl80) sell exotic armour pieces for 42k karma per piece.
But yes the tier 3 cultural items are basically trash at the moment.
They aren’t trash they just over priced them. They were a lot cheaper. I think the total cost was around 12 gold. I could see them selling for 3 gold a piece. That would be 18 gold in the end. for a rare just to reskin I can see that being worth it. But 100 gold is just insane.
not much else to be added to this post.. wayy too much effort for too little or evem pointless reward, what happened to “max stat gear will be fast and easy to get”?

Well it is, it’s just this particular set is too overpriced and not even max
I really wanted to have the “Eir” outfit just for the skin and I do hope they lower the price..

I’d actually be okay with paying the current price, IF the item had exotic stats. There are always very expensive armor sets, and there need to be some rewards that take a lot of work to get them – but after farming up more than 100 gold, you should at least have max stats.
Think of the cultural T3 sets as the new FoW armor, heavily priced armor just for looks/prestige.
But I do agree the stats and quality are strange. If you are at 100g you probably have no need for Rare level stats. Here are two suggestions I have :
1. Give a free transmute stone on purchase of every piece of armor
2. Make the actual item just a reskin item, like the heritage HoM armor items.
I do not think adding exotic stats to the gear is a good idea, because they would have to gather all possible stat options/ranges to satisfy all builds/characters or some would feel left out and back at the problem of forcing a transmute stone. If they do this, though, it is probably the most straightforward and obvious solution.

Yeah I mean it would give me something to work for then I could actually use the armor and not transmute it onto something else. We don’t really know how much gold is going to come into the economy later in the games life and 100 gold may not be nearly as much as it is now. But it does seem unbalanced with the 30 and 60 stuff which is reasonably priced.. I just assumed because of those being reasonable at the level you can get them, that the max stuff would be also
Shameless Bump, this needs a Dev answer. I want my T3 exotic :C
It is meant primary for “skins” only
In general I find armor and wpns too easy to get, and the cultural tier3 just seems way out of line with all the others. I’m not against, I think it should be harder in general.
Wouldn’t the fact that it’s cultural, I.E locally produced, mean by definition it’s not exotic? =p
But yes, I do agree with you, it should have max stats for that price.
If the armor is meant for just skinning then IMO it shouldn’t have stats. That way the confusion is left out
But if people in this thread are saying that they are willing to pay the 100 gold for the skin, then why not do just that and buy max exotic stat gear from the TP?
Hopefully someone can confirm, but I’m sure that in beta the cultural sets were purchasable with Karma and immediately post-release, while they had changed to a cash charge, they were a LOT cheaper than they currently are. I seem to remember thinking at the previous price that they were about right for yellows.
As it stands now, there’s no way in the hot burny place I’d buy any cultural armour whatsoever, especially as it’s cheaper to craft exotic endgame armour with exactly the stats you want.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
I agree that the price is over the top. I think it would be ok if they were exotics, though that would be tricky having to make many stat combinations. IMHO having the items work like the cash shop armor skins — they come with “built-in” one time use transmutation stones — would make them worth the price. Since really, who that has that much gold is going to want to use the stats on those?
But who knows, maybe inflation will happen like woah and in a few months 100 gold will seem very reasonable. xD
Yep, I totally agree that T1-T3 cultural armor is far too expensive. I have done everything in the game up to this point. I have 100% map completion on the maps leading up to level 35, I’ve gathered, I’ve kept my personal story on par with my level, I’ve sold all of my items on the TP, on top of that, I haven’t died very often, and, I still only have enough gold to buy one expensive piece and one cheap piece of T1. This is a huge disappointment.
If an item set is created for level 35, then by level 35, a player aught to naturally have accrued enough gold to purchase it, if they’re using every resource at their disposal to generate income, and I, and others are, and can’t. The item is for skinning only, seems more like an opinion, than a legitimate argument.
So, I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request that, the prices be brought down more inline with the rate at which players actually accrue gold. That, or, remove or reduce armor repairs or waypoint travel fees.
I have the two most expensive pieces of T3 now, and I think they should be more expensive. They are just for looks, not for their stats. There’s not much to understand with that, I don’t see how it’s causing confusion. If you don’t like the look, then don’t buy it.
The only thing I agree on is making them ONLY skins, like HoM gear. Because yes, the stats are trash, and if you have enough gold to even buy a piece of cultural gear you should understand that by then.

That’s basically what I was saying – either make them skin only, or make them available as exotic. But not give us useless pieces of scrap metal and make us buy another max armor AND transmutation stones.
