Why is the Open World so freaking static?
Maybe because that’s a lot of work and you’re one of the 3 people that would care.
I’m not sure Kessex Hills could withstand any more non-static events. That poor little area is like a magnet for permanent devastation. I’m sure that even if the devs set out to create new permanent changes in other maps they’d somehow end up blowing up Kessex Hills just a little bit more.
I don’t feel it’s static. FF14 is static. People are just standing at their corner to provide quests no matter if the pure sun or a thunderstorm is near to it, they never actually talk to you (just waving around your hands and no voice-over) and everything is in the instances.
In GW2 it’s very pleasing that merchant Charr I was about to talk to was on a mission in the nearby cave and came back with a bunch of players that participated. Also that many NPCs have fun lines to listen to. Bots in the Metrica Province running around, delivering messages. Enemies that start quests, waypoints that are inaccessible because it is currently under siege etc.
GW2 has the right balance right now. Any tilting in either way would be bad.
Or do you mean changes in the large scale? I was referring to the general PvE status (what you were talking about).
and politically highly incorrect. (#Asuracist)

I dont believe they set out for it to be this static. If people remember living story season 1, it was suppose to leave impacts and you had to be there to experience it. If you weren’t you missed out.
There was a big backlash against this style, so season 2 had nothing like that in it (or very little).
Basically, its static because doing otherwise causes other players to gripe for missing out.
It is a thempark game, things are stale in themeparks…
We had chain event but im guessing they are disabled.
lol man some people are so spoiled

its still kinda bland, but every mmo is the same way
