Why is the taboo topic on this forum taboo?
Its their forums, so they can and will do whatever they see fit. Its their right.

Actually that’s not entirely true. Silencing complaint and customer request is actually against the consumer rights act, and should a company provide a channel for concern or complaint, they cannot moderate it or edit the complaint in any way until it is resolved.
I also believe ANet is an open source company, meaning that their behaviours and activites are open for all to see through Gamesindustry.biz, so why are they so careful here?
They’re not silencing complaints…this isn’t the official method for such actions so if you want to complain then you need to follow the rules and go by the methods that they have made available for such matters.
Also note that nearly every mmo forum has had the same type of rule for decades now…this isn’t about freedom so I wouldn’t worry about Anet becoming the next Korea.
I’m going to quote a forum post you made yesterday to explain it to you.
“You aren’t banned without reason. You are banned because you break the terms, which you read when you accept them on account creation.
End of story."
Since it’s yourself who explained this, it should be clear enough ;-)

What official game forum does not have these rules? They seem to be pretty standard.
One of the main reason is likely that such “discussions” are rarely constructive and end ugly.
You can PM Anet or send them an email to appeal or discuss problems.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Hi everyone,
Complains on moderation should be sent to forums@arena.net. Discussing on the forums is just not the correct way to do it.
