Because extremely long boring grind is “fun” and “rewarding”, and is the only type of gameplay that can exist. Also, grinding is “super challenging” and “difficult”.

Wouldn’t surprise me. It was stated in the AMA that there was supposed to be other ways to get Ascended gear, but they weren’t included in the release because they weren’t yet fully baked.

pear was 600g yesterday in the TP, I think that speaks for itself in regards to exotics.

Your example makes changing exotics to ascended really cheap and easy. I like it! Purchase large quantities of pears and lemons from their respective Karma vendors and profit!

Ahh, that only works if you were quick and early enough to already have been stockpiling
