What is the reason behind this? When i buy new equipment i’d like to know how it looks like. Thanks

I second this opinion. I wanna make sure what I am buying is what I actually want since sometimes I am just looking for a new skin to toss onto some armor or a weapon.

Same. I think they’ve stated something on the topic. But I am far too tired to go look around for anything.

They probably just figured it wasn’t a big deal, and just put it on the back burner, but now that people are speaking up about it, it will probably be added at some point. I guess it’s just not a priority.

It is something they have confirmed they are trying to add, but its more complicated to code than you realize. Its currently being worked on and should implemented soon.

as Alex said. they are working on it but they have stated that they other more important things to do currently like halloween and removing all the bots, and a preview option is not a top priority.

That an a “Only show me armor I can wear” would be god-send to me… why do you show me heavy and medium armor? I am a caster…

Are you serious? You want preview on items bought on TP? It’s like asking that your new car should have windows. No way they could have anticipated it while designing TP! I mean can one expect from mobile phone designers to include speakers right? Who in earth would think of putting speakers in a phone? That’s crazy, no one would ever want to hear the person you’re talking to right? Right?? Would you really dare to ask an architect to include a staircase in your apartment? You know, to reach the second floor without using a ladder? No way, stairs in a two floor house? Insanity, no one would want that, surely! But preview on items in TP beats all of this. ANet could never have imagined people would want such a thing!

Anet should say in the mean time use the following website to preview items:

1. GW2 spidy website
2. Scroll to bottom left of webpage and click on ‘armor’
3. Find item in question and click on it to open its webpage
4. Click on ‘link ingame’ found at the middle right side of the webpage.
5. Run GW2 and paste / ctrl V in chat
6. Press enter
7. Right click on name in chat and select ‘Preview’

it is in the works. ANet had to rush a few of this games features (Trade Post) to get it ready for release.

I agree that this should be mandatory.

We need to view what we’re going to buy.

I would love this feature as a big focus point of the game is armor appearance/skins.

For now I just look at the icon. A lot of items with similar icons will look the same.

The reason it wasn’t implemented immediately is that the market is actually a separate system from the main game code and so there are some issues in passing information between them. Not something that’s unresolvable just more work. That’s a paraphrase from memory of what the devs said during the AMA on reddit.
