This is such a frustrating mechanic that I don’t believe serves anyone beneficially, mostly the thieves. Spamming an ability in mid animation so you can get it off the moment it becomes available usually ends up with you casting it twice or three times. At least have it be more customizable for the player so they can pick and choose based upon their personal preferences.

I agree, I’m playing my Thief at the moment and I hate it when, in the heat of fighting, I hit the skill 3 times and the get used 3 times and all my initiative is gone. At least give us an option to turn it off! I’m sure some people love it but for me, it’s just a frustrating feature that borks up gameplay on the Thief.

@Premixed Firstly, it’s something a lot of people a accustomed to especially with a Thief type class as mobility is the key. Being able to get skills of quickly is a great advantage that the Thief has. And secondly, I’m the consumer, it might sound self-entitled but it’s true. I’m the consumer and I purchased not only a game, but a promised service as well. I shouldn’t have to alter my play style simply because they don’t want to change something that can easily be rectified in a small patch.

Well I see your point.. But I think it is easier to adapt, than make them create a game for everyones need, though it would have been nice:)
But an on and off function would be nice:)
Maybe even a priority order:) like with dodge.

Conversely, why are you spamming the key if you know it will be queued to go off straight after?

I actually try not too, but when you attempt to DB and the skill has a second delay, you don’t even know if the game took the command when it’s a clutch situation and you may have been dazed for a brief moment or some other interrupt.

But what if you’ve used an ability to have it queued and wanted to cancel it? You can’t, it forces your character to execute the animation, and it takes away control from the player.

Really it’s a function that shouldn’t be innate. It’s just a simple tweak that would go some ways. Besides, giving more options to the player and lessening restrictions is never a step backwards in an MMO.

Skills always queued in GW.
You cannot have one play style from a game and expect it to work the same way in completely different games.

Also, you are not “the” customer but only “one” customer, among million. If you were “the” customer, you would have paid for my copy, and I can assure you that you didn’t.
