Why no way to work on Gold Find?
You mean something like:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Essence_of_Gold
That gives you a +2% increase in gold find every 28 days just from logging in?

No not like that. That adds to your total like achievement chests do.

Yes, and that’s what the essences of luck do to your magic find. That +2% you get every 28 days is a consumable.

I am not sure what you mean then…
Unless you are talking about making Gold find work similar to how Magic Find works, in that you have to collect and consume a large amount of essences in order to increase your gold find by 1%.

There are plenty of consumables and buffs that temporarily increase your gold find, alongside ones that permanently increase your account gold find.

huh? Both increase the total.
The only difference is that magic find from luck is capped at 300% (other than what is added via achievement rewards), whereas the +gold from logging in doesn’t seem to be capped. Although I guess it might be, but it’ll take 150 months to find out.

Luck is an equivalent to logging in each day.
When you have enough luck you fill a bar and get +1% MF, the 28 days on the login UI are the ‘bar’. When you fill it, you get +2% GF.

I’m pretty sure it’s because of how magic find initially worked.
We used to have magic find gear, which people would use and thus compromise their builds/damage output as the magic find stat would replace some other useful combat stat.
So, to get around this problem, A-net removed the idea of magic find gear and replaced it with an account-wide magic find system (luck).
We don’t have “fortune” (or the gold find equivalent of luck) simply because initially there wasn’t a “gold find” armour set.
Would be nice anyway. It’s only gold from kill aswell. Imo it would be a good money sink for the game, since the amount you get from kills is low already.
I’d say partly it’s for balance reasons.
There are only a handful of gold sources in game, and arguably the least contributing of these (direct mob drops) is what gold find applies to. ANet must’ve felt that a miniscule increase at fixed time intervals wasn’t going to upset the economy and drive inflation.
however, if that number suddenly gets an extra zero tacked on the end of it, it could well become a very real problem.
