Q:
Why not 2 sigils on 2H weps?
I notice my ascended GS has two infusion slots. Why don’t 2H weps also have two sigils slots?
Seems odd I can get Force + “on swap” effects when toting around two 1H weps, but not for my 2H.
Maybe damage is compensated already on the 2H wep?
Damage is not already compensated (technically if you add all the stats from 2 one handed weapons or off hand weapons there is a little bit more stats then on a two-handed weapon). Damage via the skills on the weapons is greater on a two handed weapon than on the one handed weapons tho. So to compensate one handed weapons are capable of having 1 sigil per weapon. Basically one handed weapons are meant to have more effects associated with them since they cause less damage via skills than a two handed weapon.
[GWAM] and [LUST]
Mess with the best, die like the rest.
Many 2h actually does lower damage than 1h.. Example:
Warrior gs vs axe/x.
Guardian gs vs sword/x
Both war and guard gs are offensive, and both deals lower damage than 1h offensives..
I hear second sigils coming to 2h weapons, but i don’t know when its going to happen.

Well, warrior greatsword should be doing less damage than their other weapons because it gives the highest mobility in the game (3+5 makes you run very far very quickly, especially if you have swiftness or another movement speed buff). Whereas their axe is really only for damage and doesn’t give any mobility at all; if greatsword did as much damage as axes, there would be no reason to use axes because they wouldn’t give the power to escape/chase that the greatsword gives.
I was under the impression it was because for whatever reason it takes nearly the same materials, time, tokens, or whatever other resource to make a single one handed weapon. So that is offset by 1 handed weapons having 2 sigil slots when you dual wield them.
Otherwise 1 handed weapons would be even more of a kick in the pants than they are now… I’m looking at you ascended weapons.
A Dev shed some light on this in a previous thread, that I’m too lazy to look for. Something about changing the way Sigils work on 2H work, or not enough tech or some other excuse/reason.
If u look at weapon strength, the weapon strength of
2 handed weapon > one handed weapon. So it has been partially compensated.
Average ascended weapon strength of gs=1100(10% increase from sword)
Average ascended weapon strength of sword=1000
At the ascended level, stats on 2x one handed weapon = stats on a 2 hand weapon.
Actually this was something promised as I recall, I haven’t seen it and wondered what happened to it, completely disappeared from notice as people were talking about LS content at the time I think.
Sure, when they cost twice as many mats to craft and you only get half a 2H weapon in your ascended loot box.
