Why other ppl think GW2 players are bad
best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base.”
Simple statistics and probability.
I like playing in parties full of people with less than 2000 achievement points. Being absolutely clueless about what to do makes everything so much more challenging.
Zyyghe (Warrior); Mrs Mustard (Engineer); Kharektera (Necromancer); Lee White (Elementalist)
I get a giggle when people try to tell me to check a wiki or a youtube video before I go into something for the first time. Then I end up doing it myself. /shrug
Check Dulfy? For what? I’m guessing you’re referring to a living story instance? I can see where another player might care if achievements were involved or something. They’re meant to be done solo so there’s really no reason to require people to know what to do if you’re just running through the story. If anything, it just shows how bad they are.
It’s the same in every game, except maybe not Dulfy. Welcome to the age of spood fed entertainment.
Context seems to be missing so really don’t get it.

This is for people like you, who don’t get it, and then check the AOL interwebs first for hax.

I doubt many people care if you die or not. They care more about if you make a 5 minutes dungeon into a 10 minutes dungeon.
Unfortunately that’s the mentality of GW2 dungeon “farmers”.
And there is really no way you know the ins and out of GW2 dungeon without running it many times or reading a guide. If the dungeon goes so smoothly on your first dungeon run, maybe you need to consider the 4 other people is carrying you.

Not going down the entire dungeon doesn’t really mean much if you don’t give us any other information. You could of been carried like crazy by other players and we wouldn’t know because you didn’t give enough information.
Also some people don’t have alot of time and usually hop on to do a quick run or two and don’t like taking 2x or 3x the amount of time for a dungeon especially when they advertise a zerk speedrun group.
Even in arah, parties advertised with “PX, exp zerk melee lupi” gets infested with players who clearly didn’t read the LFG and does not even fulfil half of that requirement.
There is also the factor that you could of been wearing tank gear and thus wasn’t contributing much to the party.
Elitists. Elitists everywhere.
I always invite new players to my dungeons, they’re more fun because they talk :p
Ferrous Cinderface: Did you check Dulfy?
Pray For Kosmos: No
Ferrous Cinderface has left the party.
Pray For Kosmos beats the instance his first time without being downed.
GG.
Huh, just like in WoW you MUST have:
Certain mods to tell you what a boss is going to do, where to position, etc.
Check on youtube for boss strategies
and (if some of the older players remember this) play a flash minigame BASED on a boss encounter, cause you had to learn the mechanics best that way, as doing it in game wiped the group.
Man, if this continues, every game will have bad players unless they watch people play on youtube or read guides or something!
well, because, legendary Scarlet knights… huge red circles… 3 seconds to act… mass fail to dodge.
or “living story bosses are too hard!”….
pick another one if you feel like it.

op was saying the clueless guy who is still in dungeon, after elitists left, did complete it without even knowing whats going on and not even downed
its not bout dulfy or whatever – its bout skill level from this game
yes but he dont say if its living story dungeon thats made for solo.
Story dungeon or explorable.
He also aint saying what gear he wears makes alot of dif if soldier or berserker.
Thirdly he aint saying what class he plays huge dif bettwen a thief and a ranger for example.
He’s given us afew lines of chatter with no context
Edit
And if living story maybe that group was made to make a specific achivment and having a noob muck it up was enough of a reason for that player to leave before starting, who knows if the primary goal was to just finish said dungeon.

Um, since it mentioned Dulfy, this is most likely about a living story instance, not a dungeon. That’s first.
Second, any difficulty that is based on having to check guides to know what to do is a fake difficulty and has nothing to do with skill whatsoever.
But of course there are people that think they are more “skilled”, because they happened to read a guide.
Still, if it really was about LS instance, then the other player (whose name OP should not have mentioned, by the way – mods will not like it) was simply clueless, not necessarily an elitist (well, he could have been a clueless elitist, those exist too). Happens.

- It happens even in WvW. People just don’t move anywhere without a commander telling them just what to do and what skills to use. I’m playing in Seafarer’s Rest server, which is #1 WvW server in Europe. Today I literally just walked across our enemies’ side on Eternal Battlegrounds, captured their (upgraded) far side camp by myself and saw neither enemies or friends on the way.

Glad you were able to do it without that guy. You’re probably better off for it.
I’ve soloed every LS so far and never had a problem. There isn’t much need to party up for them beyond just helping friends or wanting to do it a second time with less stress. Need to read Dulfy for LS?! Nope.
Peace.
I wish this game was challenging enough for me to force people to look up dungeons or missions on Dulfy or Youtube.

…people think GW2 players are bad?
Can only speak for myself but compared to other games the avarage GW2 player seems incredibly incompetent and slow in terms of understanding patterns as well as reaction time for dodges and conveying information that’s vital for overall success in the game.
I guess that’s because there is no incentive to become better as you can just leech off of other players doing the event/boss while lying dead on the sideline.
i lol’d at the unwritten part.
“Player A asks for help on LS instance”
hilarious to me.

There are two reasons for that. First, most other mmo’s don’t have as active combat system as in GW2 (no active dodges – you see no people failing to dodge). Second, in most other MMO’s there’s bigger segregation between different “tiers” of players. So it’s not that the average players in those games are worse – it’s that you never see them, because they are not in the same “tier” you play in, and thus you never play alongside them.

I don’t understand anything in this thread.
Space Marine Z [GLTY]
This happens in every mmo ever. Not only that but it happens outside of games as well. You can see this behavior in politics, news, sports, entertainment. This is part of human nature. Has nothing to do with gw2 specifically.
