I look at a lot of builds online and notice people putting trait VI ( for whatever class) in the adept/tier 1 slot and trait V in the master/tier 2 slot…..does it make a different putting VI in adept and V in master vs V in adept and VI in master?

Does not make a difference really, you still get the same effect and you don’t lose anything.

Can be an effect of people picking traits during levelling (or just in order of importance) – number VI was more important, so got picked earlier, number V was less important, (but still more important than any tier 2 traits), so got picked second.
