Why so many titles in PvP/WvW?
Umm..you obviously don’t play wvw, or you would know that for the average player reaching any of those titles would take around 6 YEARS of 3 hours play per day…
Titles are given out like confetti in pve for all those living world updates as well as decent rewards and special skins- wvw players get a green, 5 badges of honour and a few pennies for each wvw level they achieve (which dependent on server and your role can take between an hour and several days).
People have reached the 250k kills in wvw for their title in the most populated servers and even then I have no idea how they managed to get credit for so many kills, more power to them!
I agree that there could be a whole pile of titles for pve ‘skelk slayer’ for instance when you have killed 1000 of them, ‘master skelk slayer’ when you hit 10,000, etc and they really can’t be that hard to include in the game.

Although I don’t play in T1, maybe there with the humongoginormous zerg balls rolling around it is possible to get orders of magnitude more kills than what is the case in WvW for most servers.
The question you should be asking is: why are so kitten many of the titles possible in this game based on things people did in GW1? There should be like one title from GW1, and that is generous. Life moves forward, folks, this is a new game.
Well if you actually play WvW and PvP. You would know almost all the WvW and PvP titles are very time consuming. Sure there are a lot, but most people don’t even come close to getting them.

I think there is one player with 250k kills.
But the reward for wvw compared to pve is very very poor. Title wise and loot it’s crap compared to silly champ farming.

Is to encourage players to play their failed design and promote mindless grind for AP which does not do anything but gets you judge by other players of being too noob too elite.

Ultimate Conqueror: Capture 1,000,000 total objectives in WvW.

Ultimate Aggressor: Capture 100,000 total towers in WvW.
Ultimate Subjugator: Capture 100,000 total keeps in WvW.

You are right. I am not playing any type of PvP. It is not my style. The only time I was there it was for the World Completion star and some occasional Festival events.
But, like someone said above, it would be easily to add similartitles in PvE like killing 1.000.000 dredges will give a title.
PvE players complaining that WvW and sPvP gets better rewards.

A game that doesn’t promote grind.That’s where you get your end game content.
I dont understand why there are so many (permanent) titles for playing PvP/WvW and so few for PvE. I mean why cant we have titles in PvE for playing our profession or killing different types of enemies or participating in different events.
There are a lot more titles in PvE than any kind of PvP. Maxing out PvE titles is usually easier, as well. The slayer tab alone is about as many as sPvP or WvW, only a few types of PvE enemies even exist in WvW and as far as I know none in sPvP. Add to this the explorer tab, the dungeons tab, the jumping puzzles tab, the bosses tab, etc. Not to mention how much faster it is to get something like weapon master in PvE compared to PvP.

All I see there is the lack of Achievement Points they give compared to easy/less time consuming PvE content.
Titles are being added regularly to PvE through LS and TPvP/WvW are both stagnant in that department.

I was just about the post the same thing.. WTF 3…5…9…
Anet seriously really has to finalyl nerv down these title requirements so that they become reachable in a humanous time span.
No sane person will ever play GW2 every say for 24hours 6 years straight just to get these titles, but thats exactly basically what you need to do to get these titles currently ever in your life…

Either set the numbers down massively, or increase the ways of gaining points massively to speed up the progress of gaining points…. for example by lettign the actions count for the whole server of participating players socially.
Means if some other player kills an enemy, this kill point should count for every other player of the same server too…
If I kill a dolyak, then this dolyak kill should count for every other player of my server for that I play too…
That way would become WvW alot more social and would receive an increased feeling of players “playing together” to reach their goals together as one server realm.
i think the amount of footsteps i took in gw2 should be made an achievement too!

Thank you for linking that. It really is a different world in more populated WvW servers. I think a lot about switching. In most GW2 servers that amount of kills is beyond implausible.
Don’t worry it takes forever to get those titles.
